Ever since Kirby Smart left bama they have gone down a notch or two.

Nah, I think Saban is just aging. It's hard to grind like a 58 year old at 70, even for Saban. Kirby is definitely a great coach though.

No, there is just more fish in the pond.
UGA is doing what Alabama does. So just the existence of a second program like that is going to make it difficult.

And UGA is the perfect nemesis. In the East, HUGE recruiting base, top notch campus. If I was leaving the state for an SEC school it would be UGA

What you're seeing at UGA is why Saban wanted Miles to stay at LSU forever. LSU can become a juggernaut just like UGA has done with the right man in charge. We'll see if Brian Kelly is up to the task but he's certainly started out in a phenomenal direction.

Well hopefully donors are ready to step up to compete with Georgia. $80m in facility upgrades, god knows how much they’re spending on NIL.

It's funny how we are always trying to find ways to discredit Saban's dominance.

No. However, his current OC and DC are less than desirable. Losing Cochran hurt too.

I mean they have won 2 National Championships since Kirby has been at Georgia. And played for another 2 I wouldn't say that Kirby was the catalyst for Saban.
Saban won before Kirby and after Kirby. Kirby has done well at Georgia and figured it out but don't slander Saban to prop up Kirby.

Do you use your brain at all? How many times has Saban been to NC since Kirby left? How many times did he win it? There's your answer.

Smart is beating Saban in recruiting the 2 lines. It’s the reason Bama has slipped. Notice this year Saban has to move outside the south to get quality lineman

Has Saban ever said "I want Les Miles to stay at LSU"?

Saban basically threw a hissy fit in a press conference at how wrong it was for LSU to fire Les Miles. Make no mistake, Saban LOVED having Miles at LSU.

Kirby learned from Saban and Kirby is still young to be hungry. Saban is fricken 70 and I would imagine is slowing down a little.

I would say you can probably reverse that statement. Where do you think Kirby learned to run a program? Kirby is the king right now. Saban is still the GOAT.

Not IMHO. How many different coordinators has Saban won national titles with?

Former LSU assistant strength and conditioning coach Saban took to Alabama when he left LSU. Rumor is He has drug and alcohol issues. He left Alabama because he wanted an on field coaching job. Kirby said he would give him on. So he left Bama for UGA. Not sure Kirby actually gave him the job he wanted or his issues came back up. I do not think he is working at UGA today or he took a leave of absence.

huge part of the change.
as old Nick trains actual coaches that learn coaching, as well as the "behind the scenes" games to be played and won, the more competitors will arise. this one happens to be close geographically and in the same conference.
NIL minimizes the recruiting games that Nick played better than anyone else.
there are a handful of reasons. i have no doubt that I am missing a few of them.
