Was Arkansas offense just really bad, or would UGA have done that to most teams last week

Didn’t get to watch most of the game. I assume it was probably a little bit of both. I know KJ was injured slightly.

With how hot arky was, I assumed they would have at least scored.

They had one solid drive early, into FG range, then missed the kick, otherwise they'd have 3 points.

UGA DL stunting and crowd noise helped Arky commit 50 False Start penalties killing several of their drives.

Arky also hurt themselves on KO returns two times ending up with drives starting very close to their goal line.

The rest of it was just good old fashioned manhandling on the line of scrimmage.

Their offense couldn't pass the ball at all, which made it impossible to run, which is why they scored zero points.

I don't think Arkansas offense is that bad. GA is just fast and really strong.

I also think the crowd really played a factor.

Combination of UGA being that good and our schedule catching up to us. We needed a cupcake week instead the SEC stuck us with GA 2 years in a row.

We did about everything wrong against a really good team.

Georgia's D Line is nasty.

We kept tripping over our own dicks. The hogs need to have their A game and hope UGA was having an off day to have a chance. The exact opposite happened. It was somewhat predictable with the hogs coming off a big win in the SW classic and UGA having a cupcake the week before.

Had another potential FG, but went for it on 4th down.
We were just whipped on both lines. End of story.
On top of that, penalties, special teams miscues added to the misery.
We are a much better team than last year. Just not up to Bama/GA level this year.
We should be able to hang with the rest.

You have to be able to run and pass effectively out of all your personnel groupings to move the ball on that defense, and Arkansas is pretty one dimensional on offense.

Combination of things, crowd, UGA came to play, and I think they were physically and mentally exhausted from the previous week. Arkansas played four full quarters, UGA’s starters only played the first quarter. Jordan Davis played 9 plays against Vanderbilt, he along with the defense we’re fresh this game!

A few things here:

1. Arkansas passing game was exposed, or specifically our QB's lack of passing it to more than 1 reciever. We have one amazing receiver and our QB just doesn't throw it any where else.

2. UGA has a D lineman that weighs something like 880 pounds.. but yet he can run across the field and tackle our running backs from behind for some reason.

3. To be clear UGA kicked our teeth in. For us to have any chance in hell we had to play a perfect game and they had to play badly. The disgusting thing about this game though is that it feels like we didn't play a football game. The penalties against Arkansas were brutal and it just didn't make sense.

Sure, UGA has a loud stadium and it's big, so are a lot of other places. We have a lot of seniors on our team, why are they playing like they have never seen this before, like they have never been to Bama before, or LSU or (plug SEC team). It just didn't make any sense. Multiple false starts in a row, by the same fricking player. It was just bizzare.

I still think Arkansas can play - that's just that Georgia defense on display. They'll do the same thing to Kentucky. They'll do it to Auburn this weekend. They're going to do that to pretty much everybody not named Alabama. Yes, Florida, including you.

No reason at all to get discouraged as a Hog fan. Still looking at a damn good season - as long as you don't let Georgia beat you twice. Which is honestly my biggest worry about Kentucky playing Georgia. Just lose one game ... don't let it bleed over to the next week.

Something else that hasn't been mentioned yet- give UGA offense some credit.

Once UGA got up big, early, the smashmouth running game began, consistently breaking off 5,6,7 yard chunks, nothing Arky could do to stop it, cranking clock, tick tock tick tock, kept Arky offense on the sideline. Can't score points on the sideline.

I don't have the TOP stat in front of me but I watched the game twice, I would wager it is very lopsided toward UGA.

I have seen very few games where a team dominated in all phases like that (except I guess, kicking formations).

Even Georgia's radio broadcast commented many times - I don't understand why Arkansas stayed in a rush three, drop eight concept. They had five men in the box the entire time that first quarter.

When to put in a sixth, slowed GA down in the second quarter. Went right back to rush three, drop eight after halftime. And wore out in the fourth quarter, when GA piled on the last points.

I still say, if you're going to beat Georgia ... do NOT sit back, play soft, and let them grind on the ground. That just wears out your own defense. Take some chances - stop them early - don't let them drive - and more importantly, pile of time of possession. Give your damn defense a chance to hang in for sixty minutes. Because they'll have to.

The UGA vs ARK game was the first one of the season, last year.
