Was “1957” a common saying in Auburn related threads prior to 2010?

And will “1998” replace “1980” if Georgia ever wins the national championship?

Or is “1980” just a uniquely special thing in the SEC Rant lexicon?

Not intended to be funny, per se. I’m genuinely curious if things will change.

Prior to 2010, the SECr didn't exist.

Probably not considering 1957 title belongs to Ohio State

Yes - taunting Auburn about not winning a title in a long time was a huge thing, especially when Alabama wasn't very good and didn't have much to brag about on the field at the time.

Not really. Auburn was the AP Champ, not the Houlgate champ.

Believe it or not, it was part of the phone number for either their Athletic Dept or their Ticket Hotline (I believe it was for their ticket hotline).

Confirmed:

Auburn customers with questions can contact the Auburn ticket office at 1-800-AUB-1957

Proof.

I'll have every other program's last title on permanent copy and paste for all my Rant accessible devices if 1980 gets broken.

I'll turn this fricking bitch into a damn index of old SEC national titles when I'm said and done.

Just to show everyone how many other SEC teams have succeeded between Georgia's high points?

Auburn was on probation in 1957, it’s an embarrassment if anyone claims that one. I’m pretty sure they don’t claim it. Why would they?
