Was hoping they'd schedule Troy for a good Ole SEC arse-whupping.

Did ECU have to play Miami and FSU? What about USCe?

LSU is coming off a 7 win season. They are a pitiful team. ECU is twice the team LSU is.

Besides your idiocy, what does last years team have anything to do with your season opener?

If you want to laugh at opponents, check out Indiana. They play ZERO P4 OOC teams.
Their first 3 games are against:
North Texas
Howard
Western Kentucky

Soon, no big time program will play decent OOC opponents. The CFP is not tolerant of losses and gives little credit to teams that schedule major matchups. There is no RPI or NET ranking system.

You are seeing cancellations of future OOC marquee matchups across college football.

The old BCS computer ranking had its flaws but it was better than wet your finger and check the wind direction the CFP committee uses or will use. The sad thing is that a composite computer ranking with advanced metrics could be of huge value. It's better than automatic bids.

I made this point about last year’s team.

As I said, I do believe Indiana was the best team last year, but they also taught the lesson that there is no reason beyond TV revenue to schedule a big name OOC opponent, and that’s not worth costing a shot at the playoffs.

Indiana showed ADs that big game OOC means nothing.

If you are a Bama fan, that's a difficult game to get excited about.

Hey people stop bitching about Bammas opening game, they have opened up their season the last few years with quality foes.I wish LSU would open up against a gimme for once.Only a couple of SEC teams have opened up against good opponents the last few years and ALA,LSU are 2 of them.

What does water have to do with wetness? LSU is a team on the decline and its supporters have limited options to insult other teams.

ECU is a better team than LSU. Basically 100% of Bama fans would rather face LSU during the first game of the season than ECU. LSU is not that good at football.

They had to do this. 5-7 FSU was too much for them last year

We're still playing them this season.

They scheduled a Week Zero game against New Mexico State because they have a conference game against SMU in Week One.

Was Alabama supposed to start the season with two straight byes?

Not in week 1. Guess DeBoer needs more of a warmup before taking on a bottom fourth ACC team

Gotcha, didn’t realize they had a gauntlet before playing yall this year. Maybe you’ll be able to keep it within two touchdowns this time

Maybe Oklahoma's coaches and staff and players will be prosecuted for physical violence against the mentally retarded.

UTEP went 2-10 last season, 3-9 the year before that and on and on. Everyone associated with Oklahoma is very aware that many of UTEP's players have both physical and mental disabilities and are often orphans also.

You bastards make me sick.

OU is starting the season against UTEP, who went 2-10 last year.
