I think the Yankees fanbase probably could. Maybe the Lakers and Celtics fanbases as well? Hell, yall had the greatest coach in CFB history for the better part of the last quarter century. Hope you enjoyed it! All the stats, records, games played in the past, and old coaches aren’t going to help yall have success in the new age of CFB.
Is this what you wanted? Me to start a new paragraph? I’ll be happy to. All year long I’ll make a few paragraph response to all the tall tails and snake oil you’re trying to sell.
Thank you for taking my suggestion and following through on it. No one really likes huge blocks of text with no breaks; it's aggravating to read and sooooo 2010.
You may be a reasonable LSU fan. I am also grateful for your acknowledgement of the unrivaled greatness of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Alabama fans can, in fact, live off the past. There is a lot of it to feed on. Nick Saban's tenure at Alabama could be completely erased, as if he were never there, and Alabama fans could still feast on the past achievements of the team they support.
You are right about that. Bama, even if Nick Saban never existed, would still be the very best SEC team to ever exist. Maybe Oklahoma would surpass Alabama if Saban never coached here but, Oklahoma isn't really an SEC team and created their stats beating up sissies in a sissy conference.
The new age of college football, as you say, is scary for Alabama fans because we are not worthy like LSU is. LSU is the team that everyone is scared of because of Kiffin. Kiffin changed the whole atmosphere.
While Alabama has no future and the fans of the Crimson Tide will have to resort ot YouTube to feel joy, LSU has Kiffin and is ready for the brave new future that Alabama just can't quite function in.

sorry no one wants to talk about bama on the SEC rant. Nick has left you feeling unwanted
Everybody likes to talk about Bama sometimes. Who are you kidding? On the other hand, people do come here to talk mostly about LSU all the time. It's why we are all here.

damn! you and coverlet must have no life!
all day you've been posting about LSU
People come here to talk about LSU; it's an LSU board. That's why the board was created. No one would be here if they didn't want to discuss LSU.
quote:
I feel bad for guys like you that sound like a rational human-being that can be an LSU fan without truly believing any trace of negativity perceived to be a slight towards LSU clearly means you are “melting” , and your life is consumed by your interest in LSU football, and you are allowing them to “live rent free in your head”.
“Prayers sent”
Bryno1960 is a hypocritical and self-righteous twit. His words have no meaning. His only objective was to silence a poster of an opposing team that was battering his fellow LSU fans with their own medicine.
When given the chance to be nonsubjective when an LSU fan chimed in to the conversation, he balked and refused to rebuke the LSU with even a single word of reprimand, much less the thousand word essays he was giving me.
These kinds are the worst sort of people. They appeal to common sense and peace while secretly despising the target of their sermon. Two-faced.
quote:
If another LSU fan insulted you, I don’t condone that either. But I can’t control what other people say, nor am I responsible for their behavior. You seem to think that unless I publicly condemn every offensive comment made by every LSU fan, I’m somehow being disingenuous. That’s simply not the case.
My faith requires me to examine my own words and actions first. I’m not going to justify my own behavior by pointing to someone else’s. If someone insults me, that’s their choice and their responsibility. How I respond is my responsibility.
You don’t have to trust, agree with or share my beliefs. I’m not trying to preach to you. I’m simply trying to live according to what I believe, whether I’m posting here or talking to someone face-to-face. That’s really all there is to it. I’ve explained my position, and I’m not going to keep going in circles about it. You’re free to disagree. Have a good evening.
I understand. You seem to save your long-winded proclamations about good neighborliness and camaraderie among men, no matter on this board or anywhere else, to maybe just Bama fans?
An LSU fan using a vile insult towards me, right in this very time-frame, while you were lecturing me, gets nary a word of correction or encouragement to do better.
I'd like to see you directly rebuke his actions, with at least 4 paragraphs of prose, for the betterment of his soul and the harmony of all participants here.
Don't respond to me but, to someone other than a Bama fan.
quote:
appreciate the compliment, but I’m not a pastor, just someone who tries to live out his faith consistently, whether I’m interacting with people in real life or posting on a message board.
As for whether you’re “mentally challenged,” I have no idea, and it would be wrong of me to make that kind of judgment about someone I don’t know. I also can’t control what someone else chooses to believe or how they choose to behave. I can only control my own words, actions, and how I respond to others. That’s the standard I try to hold myself to.
Pastor,
I feel you aren't equally doling out your morality lessons to everyone. Why, just one or two posts ago, a very vicious LSU fan that has a tendency to repeat everything he says multiple times insulted me in a very rude manner.
Before I can trust you, you have to show that you aren't just a disingenuous false messenger delivering sermons to only one group of people here.

That poster has mental illness.
The pastor is about to reel off an eight paragraph lecture on how you need to be more polite. Or will he? Let's see if his deep concern for the spiritual welfare of posters here is equally applied to all fan-bases.
I have my doubts.
quote:
I understand your point that people often respond to others in the same manner they’re treated. I’m certainly not naive enough to think everyone on this board is going to be polite or that LSU fans are somehow innocent of saying things they shouldn’t. I’m not asking anyone to agree with me, nor am I suggesting a football message board needs to become a Sunday school class.
Good-natured trash talk and vigorous disagreement are part of sports. But there’s a difference between talking trash about a team and deliberately degrading another person.
I can’t control what other LSU fans say, and I’m certainly not responsible for their behavior. I can only control my own words and how I treat people. If someone insults me, I don’t have to return the insult simply because they did it first. That’s not being frail or overly sensitive; it’s simply choosing to respond in a way that reflects what I believe.
We can disagree, talk trash, and argue about football without forgetting that there’s a real person on the other side of the screen. At the end of the day, it’s still just football.
Dear Pastor,
This isn't a Love Thy Neighbor meeting in the back room of the church after service is over to teach people how to be more loving and caring with each other and to show compassion to our fellow travelers.
This is a football board. shite gets flung and then, that shite gets flung back.
quote:

What you just posted before deleting is the most vile, disgusting, and sickening thing I've ever seen in my entire life.
Wow!
quote:
Not upset at all. I simply pointed out that resorting to slurs such as retard, and other personal insults doesn’t exactly demonstrate maturity or make your argument any stronger and, if your defense is “LSU fans say bad things about Alabama fans too,” then you’re really not making much of a defense. Two wrongs don’t suddenly make either one acceptable.
I don’t care whether you’re an LSU fan, Alabama fan, or fan of any other school. I have no problem with good-natured trash talk, but there’s a pretty big difference between talking football and attacking people with derogatory names and personal insults.
If you want to disagree with me, have at it. Just make an argument instead of throwing names around. That’s not being “delicate”—it’s simply having enough maturity to discuss sports without acting like a middle-schooler.
As far as your comment about people from Louisiana needing to feel superior it is an interesting comment, considering Paul tells us in Romans 12:3 not to think of ourselves more highly than we ought to. I try to remember that none of us is superior to anyone else, especially over something as insignificant as which college football team we support.
In real life, people respond in kind to how they are treated. If you can guarantee virtually every LSU fan, on this board, will not vomit the most horrendous and slanderous insults towards Bama fans daily, I'll stop what I'm doing.
If not, suck it up buttercup. We aren't here to expound on the righteousness of being polite and gentlemanly.
This is a football board, sir, full of men who like football and aren't metro-sexual and frail flowers that wilt and shudder at the first sign of vigorous and uncivil disagreements.
We like it this way. The be nice to everyone and speak ill of no one board is, well, there isn't one 'round here.

lay off the copium. Nic would never have stepped foot in that tooth-less dump called Gumpbama except for the self-admitted mistake he made in leaving LSU
Coonass reasoning is not real life. It's just what all of you curate, out of thin air, to soothe your nerves.
Bama's Nick Saban has reiterated several times, most likely just so maybe LSU fans would comprehend, his greatest regret was leaving LSU in the context of making the mistake of leaving college football, not specifically LSU.
Those words have been spoken by him, personally. When a man who is, quite literally, the greatest love of your lives says something, you should drop all the stories you have created to make yourselves feel good and just listen to him.
quote:
And this surprises you?
There was no opening at LSU although after a year with the Dolphins he did inquire about a possible road to Baton Rouge. Les had a won a championship so LSU wasn't going to toss him overboard.
Then Saban had so much success and built such a legacy by 2016 that there was no way he'd leave Bama where he was a god.
Or course he never went back. Nick is always solely focused on where his feet are but that doesn't mean that Terry and he didn't love LSU or Baton Rouge while they were here.
You feign surprise or offer some nanny boo boo shite.
Saban never asked anyone, anywhere, at anytime if he could come back to LSU.
I'm not saying he didn't like coaching there. Most coaches do like wherever they are coaching or, you know, they would likely not be coaching there.
On the other hand, which is where so many people find LSU fans to be ridiculous caricatures, Saban did not secretly want to come back to his only home he ever loved and to the only fans he could relate to and to the only city that truly loved him, and to the only place he wanted to live the rest of his life at.
The melodramatic and overdone and clownish way LSU fans have continually wanted to claim Nick Saban as theirs and only theirs is a strange form of hick-town hero worship I've never really encountered.

Of course he's going to say that publicly or the Bama brass had him say that, assuming what you're alleging is actually true and not conjecture. Plausible deniability.
Have human beings, from Earth, ever really walked on the moon?
You seem to live in a fantasy-land where whatever you concoct in your silly head is real, so, I wanted to ask you some other things.
Is the Earth flat?
Are chemtrails a secret government experiment to gain mind control over U.S. citizens by turning their brains to putty?

I don’t understand why so many of you resort to disparaging and personal insults when referring to people on here whom you probably wouldn’t recognize if you passed them on the street. Calling someone the names you used in the quoted comment, along with using terms like “retarded” and various other insults, doesn’t strengthen your argument, it only makes you look immature.
People can disagree without resorting to name-calling. Honestly, that kind of behavior comes across as something you’d expect from a child, no offense intended to children. We’re all capable of having a conversation and disagreeing without making it personal or are you not?
Little baby upset? Little baby likey when Bama fans are called stupid Gumps, ignorant Bammers, trailer trash, rednecks, etc...
But, typical of delicate coonasses and all other LSU fans, they get their feelings hurty when it comes back to them.
It'll be okay. Grow up and deal with it.

Coonasses, for some reason, have a deep need to feel superior. I guess it is because they are shite people and come from shite people and have that shitty inferiority complex.
Why not just view the 8 pages as fun enjoyment that you read every single page of and then felt the need to comment on because you were so engaged?
You liked it. Admit it. The back and forth, the arguing, the insults, the one-ups, the attacks, the counter-attacks, you sucked it all up and are hoping the thread will go to 16 pages, at least.
You aren't better than this, no one in the thread is better than this. Don't try to be the Intellectually Superior Coonass come to lecture the underlings.
quote:
Yet he told Kiffin that LSU was the greatest place in college football to go and coach, and that he would never regret his decision
Saban was talking to Kiffin as a loving father talks to a child that has a learning disability. Lane, due to mental issues, has great difficulty making decisions, especially good ones.
He wanted his retard child to succeed, just not at Alabama because no one, including Saban, wanted him at Alabama.
That's did not prevent Saban from still trying to help him though. With retarded people, sometimes you have to lay things on thick, do some exaggerating, to lead them in the right direction.

LSU fans claiming Nick Saban is like Kentucky fans claiming Bear Bryant.
Great analogy.
I bet there are still children of Kentucky fans who were alive at that time that can tell us that Bryant loved Kentucky more than anywhere else because he loved the smell of horseshite and bluegrass.

Well now you're stuck with Kalen Dubose and Ryan No Run Game Grubb, you could've had the best offensive mind in the game who openly campaigned for the job after Nick retired
You eschewed him for a guy who can't run the ball and whose offensive line got absolutely trampled by Michigan in the natty game, congratulations. You might go a decade without a natty now.
Lane Kiffin is mentally stunted, some say mentally retarded in some ways, and has the reasoning skills of a teenager and behaves much like a teenager in more ways than one.
His ability to somewhat run an offense is offset by his many, many negatives that you will soon be talking about when you turn against him, with the rest of the LSU fanbase.
Then comes the inevitable rewrite of things as having never wanted him in the first place and everyone is glad he is gone. Everyone but LSU fans can already envision what is going to happen. It's going to be really funny.
