We already whipped their arse and gained our nationhood. Being a gracious and welcoming people, we're glad so many of their best, their strongest, their most adventurous, are joining our family. They're Texas, too. That's another way Texas is different than the South. We're not characterized by racist assholes who think it's an insult to call someone Mexican.

You say that, but where the Ohio Ocean separates Yankeland from the real Merica it does not stop the pale and pasty from the North from crossing the borders and invading the south.

Born and raised in Texas, but have lived in 6 states since joining the military (TX, CA, RI, VA, AL, and FL). TX is its own entity, which is a good thing. I have yet to see another state with the same amount of pride throughout the entire state as TX. Hell, I have seen a business here in FL flying the TX flag but not a FL flag. So yes, Texas is Texas, but A&M is a much better fit in the SEC than any other conference and is damn sure a better fit than Mizzou is.

That's beyond any rational dispute. My God, I miss a good breakfast taco.

And you don't find it funny that you made this statement
quote:

They're Texas, too

Not even a little ironic, since it's actually their land that you squatted on. Their ancestors were on that land before McElroys were kicked out of Ireland.
But I'm sure they're honored to have you include them as Texas too

Not really. It was sparsely populated, with only a very small nomadic American Indian population. Spain wanted to populate it and keep it under Spanish control, but the settlers who actually went and built the cities and roads and plated the crops didn't want to be under Spanish control, so they rebelled. It's pretty awesome history. You should read up on it someday.

I will say this: When Moses Austin was helping settle Texas with German and Dutch and other immigrants, he did encourage them to pretend to be Catholic when they really weren't Catholic. That seems dishonest.

Breakfast tacos

Breakfast tacos, burritos, migas, juevos rancheros. All delicious breakfast items. Fantastic when you can find a place that does them well (a lot in TX). However if you're growing up or live anywhere in the south east those places are few and far between. However, Waffle House can be found in any small town. Always delicious at all hours of the day. Last ones to stay open during a natural disaster. Its a mainstay and deserves to be praised.

"You all may go to hell, I'm going to Texas" is one of the greatest moments in American history, imo.

I heart Texas, man.

Then you should know that very few folks of Spanish descent were in Texas since before Irish folks started immigrating to America!

Migas are far more authentically Mexican than more popular varieties of the breakfast burrito. I don't like them as much, either, but lots of people do. Generally, food actually from Mexico (with the exception of the tamale and their tortillas) are not as good as food that is more Texican or Southwest.

Gulfport, MS- I-10 & HWY 49: look north, there is a waffle house. Look south there are two waffle houses. All within eyesight of the bridge.

I went to college in Murfreesboro, TN and there were 2 Waffle Houses within 1 mile of each other on the same road. One on either side of the interstate.
