If we do fire Bruce Pearl, then there is NO WAY IN HELL that tOSU can justify keeping the sweater vest. At least BP came clean about his shite because of his Jewish conscience...or people had pictures of him with the kids. One of those two. Tressel lied and kept it covered up for months. We suspended BP for the first 8 conference games and fined him $500k per year. Tressel is suspended for Salami U and Roast Beef High.

Dude, Ohio St. can't fire Jim Tressel.

How else would they beat up on the awful Big 10 while getting murdered by SEC teams that aren't named Arkansas?

I think UT should re-hire Buzz Lightyear, Buzz Aldrin, Buzz Kill, Buzz Da or whatever his name was.

I find it hard to believe he would leave for any other SEC school other than UF. I also don't think he likes coaching against Donovan as it is, doubt he would want to add an additional game a year. Some people might not think that matters, but these are extremely close. Donovan and Pitino purposely don't schedule games against each other and won't let preseason tournaments put them together.

What's this we business? I know UT banned him from off campus recruiting and docked his salary, but the 8 game suspension came from the SEC office, not the UT AD.

I don't follow Alabama basketball at all but personally, I don't think Tennessee is even an upgrade over Alabama as a basketball program.

It's all speculation right now. I seriously doubt UT has had any contact with Grant. As of right now, we still have a coach and are 1 day out of the first round of the NCAA tournament.

The past five years UT has turned into a major basketball brand. Pearl single handidly turned this program into a major cash cow. Forbes has listed Tennessee as a top ten revenue grossing basketball program each of the last 4 years. The AD is going to at the very least attempt to make a big name hire.

We have a top 3 practice facility in the SEC, and arguably the nicest arena. We've been top 5 in attendance the past five years, and TN produces enough highschool talent to be competitive on a national level. It's a good job. There will be a drop off once Pearl is out, but the AD is committed to sustaining the program.

So, Grant is going to Georgia Tech, North Carolina State, and Tennessee for the 2011-12 season. He'll be a busy man. Nice to see the Alabama basketball coach coveted, but he's staying put. He has a competitive salary, improving facilities, and is building a solid program. Alabama has had great success throughout its history, so big things are possible in Tuscaloosa.

UT fan goes to March Madnes a few years in a row, and all of a sudden the program is Duke.

Leaving Bama's basketball program for Tennessee's would be like leaving Bama's football program for Tennessee's...a downward move.

Bama makes the NIT one year and you guys act like you are a national power...you probably about 5 or 6th in the conference program wise.

Oh yeah?...well MY source says that's only because Bill Cowher and Bill Bellichik both called Mike Hamilton begging for the UT head coaching job.

Grant isn't going anywhere. I know this because everyone knows that Coach K would crawl around and through Smokey Mountain National Park to take the UT basketball job. DUH!!!

UK is #1 and Arky #2 ahead of #3 Florida Who are 4 and 5 historically if Bama is #6??? I'd probably put LSU ahead of Alabama but I don't see why you're so adamant that Tennessee is historically a much better program. Alabama has exactly as many NCAA tourney appearances and more Sweet 16s as Tennessee, has more SEC Tourney titles and only 1 less overall conference title. Alabama also leads the head to head series rather comfortably as well and has winning records against ever SEC member except Kentucky and Arkansas.
