As good as this melt is, I stopped reading right there. Not as funny when they are this dumb. Edwards and Milton are both veterans. Even Beck has a good bit of experience now

What happened before 2007? You had 2 seasons where you had 10 of more wins in 106 years. Greta job at joining the SEC when UT has at its worst and was at your best in history.

mutigerz, everyone hates Tennessee. No one on this board likes them and no one in real life cares for them either. They are just not the types that good people of any race, religion, creed, etc... want to have anything to do with.

But, and don't get upset when I say this, hardly anyone in the SEC keeps track of Missouri.

We don't really consider you an SEC team and don't watch your games or follow your stats or anything like that.

So, as vile and despicable and rotten as Tennessee fans are a human beings, it probably just caught them by surprise when Missouri beat them because no one really ever knows anything about Missouri.

I realize that the OP brought up history to question the hubris of some Vol fans based on relative past accomplishments, but shouldn’t it be only based on today…the here and now? Who gives a frick how good you were in the past or based ONLY on your conjecture how good you will be in the future, this discussion is happening in 2023.

In 2023, Mizzou is the far superior team to Tennessee. Proven. Done and Done!

So, the Vols fans think that they will out physical Georgia?

With Mims and Bowers back, the Georgia O-Line will be back at full strength.

Just have to line up and get after it.

you go back 20years 10 win seasons go to Mizzou 5 Vols 2

Funny how y’all only talk about the last 20 like that’s when football started? Last 20 years is Mizzou best stretch in football history.

10+ win season prior to 2003:
Mizzou- 1 (1960)
UT- 17

Everyone knows last 20 years UT has suffered its worst stretch in history. But not many knew Mizzou is currently in its best stretch in school history. So if it makes you feel good to compare your best ever to our worse ever then go right ahead.

You mean 2008-2021? UT won the east in ‘07 and won 11 games last year. Pretty good chance we win 9 games this year. Surely both Mizzou and Carolina dominated us during our worst stretch in school history? Were we able to find a win vs either of those powerhouses?

In 2023 Mizzou beat the Vols fair and square. I feel like the Vols got caught looking ahead to UGA and potentially playing for the East. All week no one really took Mizzou seriously and all most Vols fans was talking about was rooting for Lane Kiffin so we could play UGA for the East. The Vols took it for granted for beating y’all so bad last couple years and whooped like they deserved. I hope they learn from this and prepare for all teams the same. Congratulations on your first winning season since 2018. You have earned it and will go to a decent bowl game for it. Great years by Mizzou standards for sure.

Congratulations on beating the Vols for the first time in 5 years. You are 1-4 last 5 years. Of your six wins, only 2 of those teams had winning records. Congratulations for beating the worse coaches in UT history in Butch, Dooley, and Pruitt.
66-24 and 62-24 is being raped.

Yes we are an all time top 10 program. Congratulations on the big time win.

You may not like it, or agree with it, but you could beat again in 2 years and you still won’t have 1/4th the history the Vols have. Prior to the last 25 years, you was in a 95 year slump in football.

I just asked 20 random strangers the first thing they thought of when they heard the phrase Tennessee athletics. 19 said formerly great women’s basketball program & one said 1925 world beaters.

I don’t go to message boards most teams have many boards. They are full of hot heads that know everything.
I am only on this 1 myself.and if you read any of my post about the game I said Mizzou is going to be tough and I expect a tight close game.
We do have some good fans that love the game.
Myself I only follow football I don’t care for the other sports I wish we played 12 months a year.
But Mizzou is a tough team especially this year I also said earlier in the season I thought it would be Mizzou and Ole Miss in the SEC championship. But I was wrong there too just barely

So is Notre Dame. But Gen Z is in adulthood now and Tennessee hasn’t been relevant in their lifetime.

Most millennials won’t remember Tennessee being relevant.

Yes they are, some are clamoring for Heupel to be fired. Missouri was the better team at virtually every position with the exception of maybe running back depth
