SEC will not add a second school in a state. (So Auburn, Ole Miss, and Vandy should be very thankful.)

Florida State

See above.

Duke

Most likely would not consider coming to the SEC and/or leaving North Carolina.

Virginia

Again, no double down in an existing state. Also most likely Virginia has to make the first move out of the ACC before VT comes in.

North Carolina

See Duke.

Oklahoma

Most likely would never leave Texas, plus would A&M block them?

I think it becomes NC State by process of elimination (Wake isn't coming, they're Baylor 0.5--that is worse than Baylor most years).

And that's the only reason they're in. None of them would get in today if they were in another conference. Though we would argue about Auburn like we are about FSU.

FIFY.

And no, I don't think A&M would block them. Their (and our) rift was with Texas, the instability of a floundering Big 12, and the greater opportunity presented by the SEC for long-term success and stability, not Oklahoma.

It was always destined to escalate to 16 teams within the 5 year mark.

Except they've always had to compete with Oklahoma for top-level recruits especially in DFW (which is closer to Norman than College Station). If OU could suddenly offer its long-standing powerhouse tradition PLUS SEC competition then A&M is back to where it was in the Big 12--at best the #2 option.

Meh, OU isn't offensive to the same extent that Texas is, ignoring the trashy fan base of course.

OU is an old Big 8 school too, there isn't as much history with A&M-OU as there is with A&M-Texas. OU is going to recruit well in Texas regardless what conference A&M is in, OU is a solid national brand and has been for a very long time. I just don't see the animosity from A&M fans (or Mizzou fans) towards OU like there is towards Texas.

Tha frick it is. The Big East has no one in Football. At least we have Va Tech, Miami, and FSU. I know that none of them have done anything great in the last fifteen or so years, but don't compare the ACC to the Big East.

I would be adamantely opposed to OU. DFW kids would funnel to them like a black hole. No. No. No. No. No. Do. Not. Want.
