There's a big difference between $17mil per year and $25mil+ year. That's an offer that neither school will be able to pass up considering Florida and USC will be making $30mil+ per year. You can't be pulling in $13 million per year less in TV money than your rival and expect to remain competitive long-term.

From what was said by the fsu president it's only 3 mill more a year 17 acc to 20 big 12. And after next year the acc payout is upped to 20.

lol you can sit on your thumb and twirl

if you give a shite about "proper reply etiquette" on a forum whose name is a play on fecal matter, in a post with a direct quote to the person it was in response to, you really need to take a step back from the internet.

That, and our football fans don't CHOOSE to root for another football team. VT fans do with basketball.

never mind that you have pulled your claim directly out of your arse like most of your trollish bull.

17 vs 20 is just base contract (Tier1/2/3 for ACC, Tier1/2 for Big12)...

With the addition of Clemson/FSU, the Big12 base contract (tier1/2) would be closer to $23-25million per year)...and that doesn't include Tier3 in the Big12, which each school gets to monetize on its own. FSU and Clemson could easily get $3-5 million for their Tier3. In the ACC, schools have no control over Tier3....That $17 million is the MAX an ACC school can get. I'm not sure where you got the ACC upping the payout to $20....It's a done deal at $17mil per year, all-in (tier1/2/3)

It's a huge difference (ACC vs Big12)....$17mil MAX (ACC) vs $25mil MINIMUM (Big12)

And in the case of both Florida State and Clemson, you also have to look at what Florida and USC are getting for their TV....it's not known yet, but widely rumored to be minimum $25million for Tier1/2 on the renegotiated CBS/ESPN. (plus a possible SEC network launch for Tier3 stuff putting every SEC school over $30million)

If it was just a couple million dollars a year, I don't think FSU and Clemson would even consider a move. But when you start looking at a difference of $10 million per year, all the while Florida and USC continuing to rake in the $$$, it's just something that FSU and Clemson have no choice but to make the move.

who said I own the joint?

and holy shite you are dropping post count on somebody to strengthen your argument?

I'm sorry you think its necessary to reply off a persons post specifically but that is just really petty and childish crying.

Again, I quoted him and that alone should make it obvious it was to Busey. TFB if thats too hard for you and others to follow.

You take the internet too serious brah.

please do yourself a favor and go outside to get some fresh air.

Not when you quote what you are responding to.

Why is this so hard for you to comprehend?

Not sure where you are coming up with your numbers but this is from the fsu prez.

quote:

ACC deal reaches the $17.1 million payout, the Big 12 contract is believed to be worth as much as $2.9 million more annually for its schools.

Eta Texas is the only one making that money, everyone else is way below 20 mil

Why would go through the trouble of quoting AND respond to the wrong person, when you could have just responded to the correct person to start with?

and just for shits and giggles, the reason you reply to the person you quote is so the statement in question doesnt get attributed to the wrong person.

this is especially true when the statement is controversial to a degree.

why is that so hard for you to comprehend?

Exactly.

The Big12 is a perfect temporary stopping spot for NATIONAL BRAND schools looking to start their own network, and keep all profits from said network. This can't happen in the SEC or ACC.

Thus, you have the Longhorn Network, the (soon to be) Sooner Network, and I'd be willing to bet that a Seminole Network would be a KEY reason for joining the Big12, even if it isn't openly discussed publically. In this situation, earning potential goes absolutely through the roof.

It wouldn't be unreasonable for Notre Dame to park in the Big12 for a few years either, as they come to the end of their current tv deal, in order to also start their own network...

I'm not telling you how the site should work.

I'm telling you if you need the reply to exactly match who the response is to when said person is directly quoted you should have enough power from the mice spinning your wheels to figure it out.

On top of that, Mr longtime poster who knows so much, it was in response to a UK fan that is fairly well known on this site. Again, the very fact that I was talking about UK in a thread with a well known UK fan, with said fans own quote in my response, should easily be enough to get a clue.

In all honestly if you can't follow a thread and know who is being responded to when they are quoted you are an idiot with the attention span of a goldfish.

seriously? its too hard for you to ask for clarification if this unlikely event happens?

Its really that hard for you to follow without direct reply indicators? A feture a shite ton of other message boards don't have is that essential to you? The rest of the internet is too confusing for you?

Big12 is equal-share conference now for Tier1/2.

Every Big12 team under the new contract will get $20million for Tier1/2 (that's with the current 10 teams ... with 12+, it will jump to $23-$25mil). Also, every Big12 team can do whatever it wants and monetize its Tier3. Texas has the LHN, and every other school can do whatever it wants with Tier3 (Oklahoma is launching it's own Tier3 deal soon as well). Schools like Clemson and FSU would have the capacity to get an additional $3-$5million+ for their Tier3 in the Big12....bringing their total TV money to $25million+.

In the ACC, Tier1/2/3 are all lumped together in their conference TV contract....$17million total.

So while their base contracts are indeed $17mil vs $20mil (at the current 10), the FSU President is not comparing apples to apples.

Big12 vs ACC is more accurately $25million+ vs $17million flat.....which is why there's this whole FSU/Clemson to Big12 conversation in the first place. If it was 17vs20, I doubt anyone would be considering leaving the ACC for the Big12.
