I had the video of all their best bloopers but I believe it has been deleted. It was the 2009 Arkansas vs Florida game. I was laughing so hard when he thought it was an incomplete pass and Gary was trying to explain how that wasn't possible in the nicest way.

For me there was nothing sudden about it. I think Gary is ok overall but Verne doesn't know where he is half the time and that isn't something new. I think he is fine with golf though.

I know I'm in the minority ,but I have always enjoyed his broadcasts. Seems like a harmless uncle who just enjoys SEC teams and games.

I agree. I don't mind someone else taking his place, but I never got the hate for him. He makes mistakes (yes, more than others), and they're funny. I'll miss playing his drinking game and hearing his guffaw.

It was definitely time to step away, the game moves too fast for him now to keep up. He'll still be ok at golf.

I was at the game in person, but saw the replay of the Auburn game when he and Gary were making small talk about LSU's punter, Jamie Keehn, who is old for a college player at 26, but Verne stated he was 76.
How can you not laugh along at that?
