Heaven's to Betsy it seems he accidentally switched 2 of the numbers. He should go commit Hara Kiri in penance.

It would sit 50% empty for every session and 75% empty for the weekday games. Some atmosphere.

Early round SEC badketball tourney games don’t have crowds unless Kentucky is playing.

Totally agree. But, you are a week late on this one. Go find the other one.

I heard several of the ESPN talking heads who played college and pro ball said they like the Met and the ability to play on natural grass and an open stadium. Plus the crowds prove it is a great site.

I read last week where Hoover (the city) is committed to some upgrades with some commitment from the SEC. Seems like there is a year or so on current contract but I bet SEC commits, and Hoover does the upgrades and gets at least 5 more years.

Looked it up last night. The city recently issued bonds that included funds for stadium improvements. Didn’t detail what improvements those were.

The center of gravity of the conference moved a little west with the new adds, so move the conf tourney tom Jackson Mississippi!

Arkansas doesn't care about conference tournaments so why do you care either way?

To be honest, the SEC tournament is a waste. The regular season may mean something in basketball and baseball.

I remember concessions, chair backs where the bleachers are, bathrooms maybe and a couple of other things that I don't recall.

Had a blast at Globe Life for the opening series and the atmosphere was really cool but with that said it would look quite a bit different without teams like Oklahoma State, TCU and Texas (for now) there since it’s much further from most SEC schools.

Have you actually been to Jackson, MS? That was a rhetorical question, the answer is obviously no.

It will always be Hoover because everyone goes to the SEC tournament then goes to Destin for the conference meetings. As long as SEC office is in Birmingham it will be in Hoover.

The stadium is in Pearl, not Jackson. Not sure they could accommodate the tourney just from a hotels/restaurant standpoint. No need to even venture into Jackson unless you just wanted to see what a small Detroit looks like. Flowood is nice just north of Pearl but both towns are separated from Jackson by a river. All that being said, I prefer Hoover over Pearl.

How does the Big 12 play their conference tournament in a state of the art enclosed MLB park in Arglington? We started the season there. I don't remember seeing any RV parking?!?!?

So glad the SEC offices have it figured out.

This would suck....

"If you build it, they will come."

That may be true in MLB, but that ain't happening with SEC or college baseball. The only sport that has its World Series after school lets out and students go home.

I said the same thing when we were at Globe Life and they were advertising the Big 12 tournament being played there. What an amazing building, and the SEC should be jealous.

I stay at the Hampton Inn or Hilton Garden Inn there at Pearl 10-15 nights a year. I don’t think there is enough lodging there in Pearl/Brandon for the tournament, nor restaurants. If you extend it to the whole Jackson metro area, sure. But then you are having to deal with Jackson again. And again, you would have to coordinate it with a minor league team during their season.
