Wasn't an NBA coach, but basically an NBA minor league coach. Yeah, NBA guys usually work out well.

I dunno if it will work, but unlike our NBA coach he was a good hands on teacher. That was his M.O.
Still a wild card, but that's at least a good skill to have for development.

I didn't think their idea of grabbing Dawkins was great but I think that was a much better plan than Stackhouse.

He has no college coaching experience. NC State learned that NBA coaching experience doesn't transfer to college with Sidney Lowe. Vandy just came off a 0-19 season. Is this the time to select an unknown quantity?

It's not that black and white. Mussellman has done a great job.
It seems like a big risk to me, but if you make the hire specifically looking at possible negatives "most" NBA to College guys have and are satisfied the candidate is strong in those areas then it's at least defensable.
But yeah, it's risky.

I have no idea how this works out so I won't offer an opinion. I hope it does. There's no reason SEC BB can't emulate SEC Baseball in that the whole damn conference is good. Make the NCAA tourney from the SEC, have a shot at the ring.

Well frick, Vandy hired the only good coach on the Grizzlies’ staff, and the Grizz can’t fire their head coach because they’ve fired too many head coaches recently.
