Skrayper is all giddy just thinking about penning Ruggs myriad letters and sweet nothings while he's locked up for 15 years. Truly, a romance for our completely normal times.

How the frick did he survive?
Its always the drunk assholes that survive, leaving innocent victims dead or mangled and their families left to pick up the pieces.

Yep and he had an illegal gun in the car.
Kinda depends on where the gun was in the car. Nevada has some interesting gun laws. The allow open carry without a permit but require a permit for concealed carry of a handgun. In a vehicle, it gets kinda confusing. If it's loaded in plain sight, you do need a permit. If it's concealed loaded handgun within the car (glovebox, purse, trunk, etc.) you don't. However, him being intoxicated with a gun is illegal. Having said that, the gun is the least of his worries right now and the DA's office likely isn't all too concerned with that aspect of this case either.

Yep, and very similar situation. Drunk teen slams into their car at a stoplight. Kid was driving around 90 at impact IIRC. They both were wearing seatbelts but died from internal injuries. If Ruggs was driving 127 at impact, she very easily could have died at impact, which is all I hope under the circumstances. I pray that she didn't burn alive.
Rod's car was impacted from behind, then slammed into a pole. I think the secondary impact directly resulted in their deaths if I recall correctly.
This lady they say rolled for 500ft after impact, so who knows.
The black box in the vette is going to hammer Ruggs in court

Drunk people are more likely to survive traumatic incidents because their body just lets them take the path of least resistance and absorb the impact rather than fighting it like an aware human would.

in what way does that matter? I bet half the people on this board regularly or know someone who regularly keeps a loaded gun in their car. Do I? no, but pretending its some further indicator that Ruggs is a bad person is unnecessary and untrue.

Well…it certainly doesn’t look good. And when other people are deciding your fate, you want to look as good as possible.

I do, but it's also legal in my state (I also have a CCP if it wasn't). In Nevada, it will depend on where the gun was in the car to determine if it was illegal or not. It was, however, illegal for him to have a loaded gun while intoxicated regardless of the rest. But you're right, him having a loaded gun is irrelevant to his other charges. A loaded gun doesn't enhance the charges like it could in other criminal matters. They might not even bother prosecuting it, and even if they do, it would just run concurrent to the rest of his sentence.

we already know ruggs is a bad guy because he killed someone driving incredibly recklessly, we don't need to add puff to what we already have.
