Good. You frickers wanted to get paid, well this is the downside of it. Sometimes you get played.

"I am delighted when people do not get paid what they were supposed to." is a really bizarre take.

Ummm, no. That's not right in any industry or any job. Maybe it's common in the entertainment field though.

You just sound vengeful toward to the player who's just part of the system about it.

wonder how many people here beating the “would you stay if you weren’t paid” are salaried versus hourly.

I've been both. I wouldn't do it either way, if, and it's a big if, what he is saying is true.

And a key component of your salaried angle is the promise of future promotion/salary increases. There isn't that there for this kid. This is his last year and he ain't getting drafted.

I haven’t been serially downvoting you. I even upvoted your lizard people post. We will wait to include that until the sequel involving Area 51.

Unless there’s a massive reset the end result will be most D1 programs will not exist a decade from now.

This has been an issue for a while though. We just got to see more of the money changing hands in public.

I do agree there are a very limited number of programs that operate in the black. Outside of the SEC, Big 10, and Notre Dame I don't think any are really viable athletic programs financially

Why keep doing something you literally said you "hate" just because your family has always done it?

A very valid question. I guess it’s kind of like being in a relationship with someone having a meltdown. You keep hoping they’ll get their **** together so things can go back to how they were.

Honestly I only go to a few games a year now and its more about seeing friends and not breaking the traditions involved with a football Saturday on campus for future generations in case they can get things figured out with the rules.

Imagine being such a gaping pussy that you quit on your team in the middle of the season because you got your fee-fees hurt.
Imagine having so little self respect that you just continue working like nothing happened after your employer makes it clear you aren't going to be paid what you were promised.

Their high school coaches and handlers never stopped getting calls. Portal recruiting is 365 days a year and half of that is recruiting your own players to stay.
Handlers (agents) work the communication lines 24/7. They're getting a cut of NIL, and they want more $$ same as the players.

Both things can be true. Could be UNLV didn’t pay as promised and it could be some other team contacted him. Also there may be something else not yet realized .

My guess is that both things are true and his agent or him looked around also

He isn't "quitting" on his teammates because he didn't come there for his "teammates".
Rosters today are a conglomeration of temp labor contractors. It's why agents are already putting out feelers mid-season for the next year.

Players wanting “their cut” is what led to the shite show of a sport we have now. I feel no sympathy when their greed gets taken advantage of

Yep. A system that the players advocated for when a scholarship and stipend wasn’t enough. They got greedy so I love when it bites some of them in the arse like this

Yes, how dare companies like ESPN, coaches, and the NCAA make millions to a billion + off of athletes playing a sport and those athletes dare to ask for a piece of the pie.

According to dad (tweet below), he had only been paid $3,000 of the money promised and the UNLV people kept stonewalling

Dad's explanation.

This. The majority of schools who don’t want these additional headaches will apply for FCS status. Like the exact opposite of what we’ve seen for the last 70 years of the sport

I didn't think you could have a dumber take than wanting Freeze back at Ole Miss but you are just full of surprises.
