re: University of Alabama: Why are you not asking Miller to confirm whether he read the text?

I would argue this still wouldn't be the case if he didn't know the gun was even in his car.
Miller has not denied knowing the gun was in his car, and the text from Miles indicates Miller knew he had it.

What if BM was headed to pick Miles up after dinner anyway?
I'm pretty sure that was the plan all along.
Clearly. So it completely makes sense, since they already had a planned pickup time and location ("hey, pick me up at 1:38 and park in that same spot you always do where it looks like you trying to block traffic, lol"), that his buddy would text him that he needed the gun that that BM didn't even know was in the car that was already on its way to pick him up.

How did the gun end up in Quinerlys room?
Posted on 2/23/23 at 10:39 am to Jon Ham
Of course he read the text...

Obvious line of questioning is:
Did you read the text?
If No:
Then why did you bring your friend a gun? Or how did you know to bring the gun to him without reading the text?

Hmm....the statement from his attorney seems to dispute your interpretation:
quote:
Mr. Miles brought his legal handgun and left it in the back seat of Brandon's vehicle. Brandon never saw the handgun nor handled it. Further, it is our understanding that the weapon was concealed under some clothing in the backseat of his car.

He was already on his way to pick him up. He wasn't "bringing his friend a gun."

I won’t see or handle a bunch of things in my backseat when I go to lunch here in a bit. Since when does that mean I’m not aware I don’t have them back there?

Obviously take with a grain of salt but Miller’s attorney stated that he was already on the way merely to pick him up. It would explain why he arrived at very most 6 minutes before the shooting
For what it’s worth, the relevant text doesn’t express or even imply Miles’ location. So we do know for a fact that other communication occurred

He then went to pick them up from the club and they took the gun out.
Right. It's completely normal to make sure nothing is in your back seat after you drop some people off. This is Hunter Biden laptop level naivety. Like Hunter, though, I'm sure it'll all go away.

Hey man, whatever assumptions you need to make. I'm just going off what we actually know.

Even if he came out and said he didn’t read the text this afternoon, you wouldn’t believe it so what would be the point?

I don't think many of y'all know many college kids these days. People have been putting the fear of God into kids about texting and driving for over a decade now. My teenage driver is scared to death of it.

This is like the 3rd time I’ve seen you try to imply Brandon Miller is terrified of being on his phone while driving. I’m 100% I’m closer in age to college kids than you. This whole post is BS

Texting and driving is more dangerous than drinking and driving. It's a lot more rare than you believe. Just because you're an idiot who texts and drives doesn't mean everyone else is too.

Saying he didn’t see or handle the gun does not mean he wasn’t aware he had it. And that’s even if he’s telling the truth about not seeing it. Dude’s paid-for lawyer says his client didn’t see it and you’re all convinced it’s gospel

I never do.

It’s not my interpretation, it’s an absolute fact that the attorney’s statement does not deny Miller had knowledge the gun was in his car.
“Not seeing” something does not mean not knowing of its existence and location. It’s a careful choice of words that may be technically true but paint the most favorable picture of the client which likely isn’t the most accurate representation of what happened.

There is 0% chance this lawyer released a statement that doesn't align with the facts as the police and the DA know them.
