I wonder how many people on here know that when the Dodgers first moved to LA... they played baseball in the Coliseum for like the first three years. Left field was like 250 ft. Right field was like 440 ft.

Is it not the same distance when the other team is at bat?

It is like some people are completely unaware that the whole reason that stadiums that have unusual dimensions usually have them is because of geographical or space limitations. You can’t just move a fence. OP is saying these stadiums should be abandoned and new ones built in a different location within two years.

Coming in with one of the softest takes of the season.
Toughen' up gal and deal with it.

Yes it is but UGA being in the same stadium inflates their stats compared to the rest of the SEC. Since it is their home field it would hold advantages as they know how to play things where as a rookie wouldnt. Aware someone the HR trophy and it goes to UGA with the left hander winning it.

Nah, that's Tenner. Go use Google Earth and measure.

The sainted Dudy Noble Field is only 305’ down the right field line, but nobody has any issue with that?!?

A lot of those dimensions aren't correct, Tennessee is more like 315 down the the RF line. Also true left center isn't 385 and right center is more like 350. It's kind of oblong so square footage figures are going to be incorrect.

Kudzu Hill (the hill beyond Foley's right field wall) is private property. So, either UGA would have to pay a ransom or use eminent domain (pure evil for such a purpose), or UGA would have to build an entirely new stadium.

Maybe but they aren't hugely different.....

24 World Series Games were played at the Polo Grounds. 257 to right, 279 to left. Do we asterisk "The Shot Heard Round the World" because it was hit to that short porch in left (Well we do maybe because the 51 Giants were the original Houston Astros, but not because of the dimensions).
You must've become a baseball fan last week (maybe, Bama fans and all), or else you play in one of those old school parks...Braves Stadium in Boston was over 400 feet down the lines and 550 to right center when it opened because the owner liked inside the park home runs. (Checks Sewell-Thomas' dimensions). Nope.
OP is going to now go look up the Shot heard round the World and the Polo Grounds and be shocked to learn that the Giants and Dodgers used to be ni New York.
Besides, as a Bammer you sure you want that? I mean they standardized how football programs could pay their athletes across the sport, how has that gone for Bama?

No the uniqueness of each park makes baseball great. Besides MSST hit against the same dimensions as Georgia.

It's enough to make Tennessee the smallest playing field in the conference, area wise.

College baseball. We have uniform standards for the basketball court and for the football field. Give each NCAA team 2 years to complete.
I mean, I get it. I often thought it strange major league baseball had all sizes in their fields, but, if MLB does not, why would college?
