Contiguous, like-minded peers in athletics and academia, AAU.

Book it.

You are prob right. We aren’t going to settle for minor league schools like NC State just yet. It’s all about the big boys.

I'm thinking we'll take on 4 new teams in 2026...

NC, West Virginia, Miami and Notre Dame.

I’m still really confused about why everyone things the SEC will be looking to immediately add more teams. Everything we’re seeing right now is a response to us adding OU & Texas.

Bc the writing is on the wall. We're breaking away from the NCAA. This is moving towards semi pro north style leagues. This is about the next 50 years, and UNC will be a valuable piece.

Because most of the people posting on this board eat their boogers.

Imagine if the SEC grabbed 4 ACC schools. The schools who are left in the dust are going to be screwed. That’s going to be a primary factor for a school like UNC jumping ship.

I think UNC and VA would be good moves and if it expands even further I think we should add KS and OK State. It would add Bedlam along with the Red River shootout to the SEC. Plus Kansas would bring back the old rivalry with Mizzou. I honestly think this would be great for all the newest (western) members of the league. Great TV for football and basketball.

And continue Kansas’ ownership of Texas.

How will they get around the ACC contract that goes through 2036?

We don’t know what that k says. However suppose there is a buyout (which I’m sure there is) then it’s likely a school will agree to pay simply due to the $ to be earned in a new league. You are potentially looking at $80+ million per school/year in the not too near future for schools in the SEC and Big 10.

I think SEC should take 8 school with all the best schools. Then Big 10 and Big 12 will get involved. Don't have to pay anything if there isn't a conference.

UNC if they were to leave the B10 has a better shot at getting them. For multiple reasons outside of football.

The SEC has a better shot at grabbing NCSU before the other 3 Tobacco Road teams would go anywhere.

UNCCH will absolutely join the B10 and never - ever - join their perceived academic & social 'lessers' in the SEC. same with 'ol Virginny'. UNCCH & UVA are a package deal if the ACC dissolves itself - both go North.

Wake & Duke will likely make it 4 together while NCSU's corpse is dumped on a dirt road
near Pittsboro.

UNC is the Big Boss Man of the ACC. They aren't giving that up to get their arses stomped every Saturday in football. Va Tech, on the other hand, would be a perfect fit for them and for us.

UNC and their fans have absolutely nothing in common with your average SEC school and fanbase. If you want a NC school give me NC State.
