If only Alabama and Georgia could have played when Metchie and Williams started the game healthy, then we could have seen how those injuries impacted the outcome of the game. Oh, wait…

If that is the case, then 2020 needs an asterisks and Bama hasn't won a Natty since 2017.

Also, they were fortunate to win that because Sony Michel went down with an injury in the 3rd qtr after running over 100 yards. Which means, that needs an asterisks next to it.

So, Bama hasn't won a true Natty since 2015.

Congrats, it's been 7 years Bama fans.

You could say that about any NC team, or any championship team for that matter.

The more physical team won that game. Georgia had 160 rushing yards and Alabama 30. Any team that finishes with 30 rushing yards doesn't deserve to win any football game, let alone the national championship game. This is still football, and football comes down to the line of scrimmage.

You didn't need your backups. That's the point.

Sure we did. Adam Anderson wasn't playing, we had a backup LB. And two backup receivers were starting all season because the starters were still too injured to start at the end of the year (though they did get some snaps). Back-up OG and LT were playing due to injuries. Backup star was playing due to our starter going down week 2. Starter at CB missed the whole season. Best deep threat WR missed the whole season. Not to mention injured guys who weren't actually healthy again until the NCG like Chris Smith at Safety and Jamaree Salyer at OG.

Oh wait... did you honestly think UGA didn't have injuries to deal with?

The difference is the backups were good enough that you even forgot they were backups.

Hell, Brock Bowers only started in week 1 last year because UGA's 3 experienced TE's were out (Darnell Washington, Arik Gilbert and John Fitzpatrick.

Every team has injuries, just not the number and importance Bama had in the NC game. Anderson wasn't on the team. You had 2 starters that didn't play, a corner and an OG. Your coach said you were healthier than you had been in a long time while Bama was depleted. Injury luck plays a part and Bama was unlucky in that regard.

True, but not many lose 7 starters including receivers with 1600 and 1150 yards with all but one coming late in the year or in the NC game itself.

Lmao injuries are a part of the game. If you can’t overcome them than your overall team isn’t good enough to deserve a championship. You beat Texas without Colt McCoy, and we beat y’all without Percy Harvin.

Every team has injuries, but mine are more important because it’s my team we are talking about here lol you are a bitch. Injuries are a part of the game. Ohio State spanked y’all with their 3rd string QB. Sack up son.

Why don’t you compare the passing yards Bama had in the SECCG to what they had in the natty? Perhaps your receivers weren’t the problem after all.

Bottom line is that Bama didn’t have the depth to win. You had a Heisman QB, a RB who ran all over your opponent the week before but who couldn’t get much going against UGA, and a big TE to go along with some highly rated WRs and a good OL, but you all struggled because of of two players? That’s weak.

The difference in the games was the pressure we got on Young the second time around. Our defense smothered teams all season and we went away from our standard game plan in the SECCG and paid the price. We went back to what worked in the second game and it looked more like what we did all season to the other teams we played.

Face it: Bama lost because you didn’t have the better overall team.
