So one of the ESPN guys mentioned the possibility that Clemson would beat Georgia in a head to head to play in the BCSNC game.

Is this true? That would mean that Georgia ran the table the rest of the way and beat the SECC contender.

That's four ranked SEC opponents. Does an early loss by three points really take us out in that senario?

Personally I don't like to look this far ahead but they mentioned it and now I'm thinking we need..NEED South Carolina to win.

Am I way off?

Ummm. Your loss was to Clemson. Isn't that the definition of "head-to-head?"

Edit: Maybe I'm not following what you're saying. Do you mean Clemson will get into the BCSGG over Georgia because of the early win? Or do you mean that it will be Clemson vs. Georgia in the BCSCG?

Yes. You're not getting in over a team that beat you. Duh.

Not off at all. Clemson doesn't really have much of a schedule left, well USCe but, whatever. Georgia still has a couple games but not any they won't be favored in. very good possibility.

If South Carolina is somehow top 10 when Clemson plays, then with FSU + ACCCG, their resume will look every bit as good as Georgia's. And oh yeah, 38-35.

Okay same senario but the other slot for the big game is between Oregon, OSU, and Georgia?

Do you really think UGA should get in over an undefeated team that beat them?

If Clemson remained undefeated, and another major power (Oregon, tOSU, etc.) did, too, I'm afraid that Georgia would be left out in the cold. Nobody would vote for a team that lost to another team that was in contention for the 2nd spot in the BCSNC game.

If you can't beat someone in the regular season, you shouldn't get a re-do with them in the BCSNC game.

Oh wait...

Yes, because ...

SCAR will beat Clemson the final game of the regular season - not as a favor to UGA but rather simply because we'll take great personal pleasure in doing so.

Secondly, there are still plenty of trap games on UGA's schedule. SCAR is not out of the hunt yet.

Thirdly, FSU is quite capable of beating Clemson. But if that happens then the SEC would need UF to beat FSU the same weekend SCAR is beating Clemson.

lulz at Dawg fans already fretting over the longshot that Clemson goes undefeated and therefore remains above them in the BCS pecking order. luLz lUlz Lulz lulZ!

Georgia would have beaten Clemson if it wasn't the first game of the season. Too many new pieces to face such an explosive offense.

Hopefully, we will take care of Clemson for y'all. Clemson is playing like they could beat Peyton and the Broncos right now, but weirder things have happened. They started out 2011 8-0 and beating teams by 40 points only to fall off at the end. Hopefully that happens again.

We have a lot to improve on to be able to beat them, but thats why they play the games... all 12 of them.
