Got this from another board(all of these are true):
In his tenure:
-sent UGA tumbling down the Sears Cup standings
-lost the NCAA tennis tournament in Athens
-basically said, "eh, we’ll talk about it Monday" when Gurley news broke, then "thank you sir, may I have another?"ed the NCAA
-bent over backwards to accommodate the Auburn effing Tigers – MORE THAN ONCE
-was such a miser to CMR that he paid assistants out of his own pocket
-all but forced Mike Bobo out of Athens
-was checkmated by JEREMY effing PRUITT into finally building an indoor facility
IOW, Howdy Doody sucked

Except for the fact Kirby has a winning record against Mullen
Florida fans: Once Mullen gets comparable talent, he will separate himself.
"WOW, FLORIDA HAS SCORED 38 POINTS IN ONE HALF."
Georgia fans: Surprised Pikachu face.
I mean, if you seriously think that if they switched jobs, Kirby would have you in a better place than Mullen, well.
Look no further to that arse whoopin' he gave you guys.
And I don't want to hear injury bleating, you guys have stockpiled blue chips with the most talented roster in the country.

What’s the issue here? Mullen’s a better coach. Seems like a smart man.
Even if you think that, Smart has been able to get things done politically at UGA that Mullen never would have been able to accomplish. Mainly increasing the financial commitment to winning in football.

Gator fans are so insecure about Dan MuLLLen. Yall need to take a break from the UGA threads for a while

SteelerBravesDawg, what you're saying is way out in left field somewhere and I have no idea where you got any of that crap from. Your Mullen claim honest to god is the first time I've ever heard that.
McGarity moved on Kirby quickly after Spurrier quit mid-season. Kirby would've been South Carolina's guy. Spurrier set everything in motion. That's pretty much common knowledge by now.

It is pretty common knowledge to anyone w/any insight into UGA that McGarity wanted Mullen while Billy Payne, Dan Leeburn, and the other 2 or 3 most influential boosters all wanted Kirby. And McGarity also did NOT want to give up his micromanaging of the program, I.e., forcing Kirby to hire the assistants he wanted like he did w/Richt. And it almost cost us losing him to S.Carolina. It wasn't until Payne and Co.basically threatened to fire his arse and completely stripped him of anything to do w/the football program that Kirby came. And here's some more for you of just how bad Howdy Doody has been as AD and why today is a glorious day to be a Georgia fan. I got this from another poster on this site:
"Lol yeah I'm sure richt looked around the sec and decided "nah, we don't any of this stuff even though we're the only one without it". You seem to think mcgarity was always ready with the checkbook and was simply never asked, while ignoring the fact richt was having to help pay assistant's salaries out of his own pocket. But I'm sure that's how he wanted it right? We were busing to atlanta to fly to away games and coaches were driving their Tahoe's all over the state to recruit instead of flying. All of this was bc mcgarity was a cheap bastard.
And let's just PRETEND that richt actually wanted to be at a disadvantage and also help pay his staff on his own...shouldn't it be the job of the athletic director to take a look at our peers and say "whoa hold on... we're clearly lagging behind here we gotta make some changes"?
This is the guy that absolutely and utterly whiffed on his first like 10 coaching hires. It wasn't until we got Kirby, which had nothing to do with Greg, we started hiring like we wanted to win. Under mcgarity we lost the tennis National title host that we'd had for years. Our women's bball, gymnastics, and baseball programs went into the shitter under his watch. We still give zero fricks about foley. Baseball and basketball have absolutely no business being the way they have under him considering the talent in state in both sports. He made zero effort to rectify us playing at Auburn back to back, and before the argument of "but the schedule rotations are already set!" Florida and lsu made it work a few years ago when a storm displaced the game and they had to go 2/2 instead of 1/1. He also allowed the dsor to move which helps us zero and only serves to help make Auburn's schedule easier on themselves. He's a hair dyed buffoon that had no business holding his position as long as he did. Good riddance"

That’s a dumb take, but I understand why gators want to bury their head in the sand and act like y’all arent luck as frick as to how 2020 has gone.

Fields would’ve never committed to the hunchback.

This quote is from a guy that whined and cried about all those injuries to players for the last three years. And also cried over the 10 or 12 criminals that got suspended for credit card fraud and identity theft.
Sanctimonious a-hole.

UGa fans think McGarity is so bad, but they forget about Ol' red panties guy who preceded him.
I'm not trying to bribe you
McGarity was solid for the Dawgs imo.

The Kirby hire was a win. Rumorville doesnt give mcgarity credit for that hire.
What other hire has mcgarity made that is a win for UGA? He has been AD for 10 years. I will be sure to check back for your answer.

ETA-
There's really little chance any #1 QB recruit signs with Mullen.
Say he really is as good a QB coach as you guys say. How abrasive must that gremlin be that he can only sign projects and QBs who didn't start in high school?

Y’all finished 8th in the Director’s Cup in 2018. You got that fast white boy from Texas on your track team now. UGa sports looking bright!

Wasn't the prior President of UGA the real problem during the days of Mark. The guy was cheap.

Wanna know how I know you don't know shite about UGA football.
Some of the criticism of McGarity is misplaced, but he was objectively no better than mediocre at his job on his best day. He *absolutely* was attempting to push for Mullen to UGA and was more or less told to sit down and shut up. Most of McGarity's "successes" have been in spite of his own actions/preferences, rather than because of them.

He was an outsider. Salesman (scheister type) who could fundraise with the best of them. I've never heard president Adams accused of being cheap. Alumni accused him of being an outsider who didnt share the same interests as the faculty and student body (mistreatment of Vince dooley. No treatment for herschel. Rubbed all of the old guard wrong. Fired them and replaced with yes men. Basically a wet dream for the board of regents who only cared about dollars coming in).
