Williams Nwaneri(DL) expected to commit to OU over UGA.
Sooners also expected to get David Stone, the 2nd rated DL in the class and another 5 star at the same time.

Letting Venables and OU into the sec was mistake number 1. That big 12 patch was the only thing keeping OU from getting those top DL recruits and winning multiple NCs.

I think it was the coaching. You see Lincoln Riley, and the first thought that comes to your mind is not, "that's who a defensive lineman should play for".
Now whether Venables has employed a different narrative, and whether it will be successful, that's something we're going to find out....

Our roster already has really good players on it. We prefer to pay them more than guys who we've never seen play at the college level. There are other teams whose players are not as good as ours and they prefer to blow more of their NIL on the new guys. Understandable.
