States he wants to resume playing college basketball again.

This is a head-scratcher of course. He was never medically cleared. Of course he would play here if he was medically cleared.

He's had 4 independent doctors from 4 different schools come up with the same conclusions.

Now he's going to jump to another school that's going to medically clear him? Very risky IMO. Wish him the best regardless, but man that's so risky. He has $5 million in the bag if he just walks away... why risk your health and the money?

Man I feel for him because it’s obvious how damaging feeling like he may never play again has been for his mindset. He’s trying anything at this point. Playing on an artificial medical clearance is just so desperate though. I really hope he doesn’t make things worse

Baylor has a history of clearing kids like him.

I was surprised to read that too. If the doctors won't clear him, then take the money and run. You're set for life.

Jared Butler was one a few years ago who had a heart condition. Bama wouldn't clear him, Baylor did.

Scary shite what happened to him. I feel bad for the kid, but he shouldn’t risk his health. Have to wonder what the cause could have been? Almost sounds like a heart defect

For whatever reason, a school where an injury or issue takes place always seem to have a harder time clearing guys… be it more responsibility or knowing the history…. It’s not that uncommon for a new school to clear a guy when the original school wouldn’t.

What a talent - I really liked his game and watching him despite him being the opponent. The fire to compete just burns a lot hotter in some people and they can't shake that feeling I guess. If he plays, just say a prayer for him and know it's all in God's hands anyway.

I know Cal loves that kid. I'd take him.

What’s the underlying cause of his medical issue? That’s tough for him.

Yes this is true. Don’t think anything has ever gotten filed though but adds a wrinkle

TN had a pretty highly rated high school kid get ruled ineligibly medically under Pearl. He transferred out to New Mexico and they recklessly cleared him.

He ended up playing like 1 game then quickly pulled him and that was it for him. He had a heart defect and an internal cardiac defibrillator. It's not worth it for a school to risk it.. even for a talent like KJ.

Lol @ calling him a traitor when he isn’t allowed to ever play here, can’t blame him for chasing the dream when he was so close. And innocent until proven guilty nerd

I mean Trey Smith is playing in the NFL and he had 2 bouts with blood clots in his lungs. It's risky, sure, but these guys are chasing a dream and they're still so young it's hard to give up on it.
