You can configure either to look a lot of different ways depending on stocks and other accessories.

From the video, the Saiga looks to be the weapon IMO. Was anything said in the press conference?

If you are shot at 3 feet away with a shotgun you could drive a car through that hole.

not really. just description of shooter and that the weapon was believed to have been a military style weapon and then gave the TPD phone number to call if you have any info.

Depends on range. If he shot them in the back with a shotgun at 2 or 3 feet, it'd leave a pretty big hole, even with #6 shot.

That would be a massive hole.

Here is a link to what may have been the weapon (this one is shipped with a 5 round mag, but larger ones are available even at Academy).

Im just posting it to show that it's a common gun that doesn't cost a lot. Some reports are jumping to the assumption that, because of the weapon, this guy has to have military or LE experience. Hell, in Alabama, you only have to be 18 to buy this gun.

I own a Remington 597 which is a .22 semi-auto. It comes with a 10 round mag, but you can buy the 30 round mag (seen in pic) which has that AK-47 curve. This would be consistent with the smaller wounds and popping, but would not explain the couple of larger wounds.

(This is not mine, just a pic from google search. That scope and bipod are aftermarket)

Yep - Go to any Dick's or Academy and they have them. Not too expensive either.

I see the numbers of victims. Did the shooter have accomplices, what type of gun was used for sure, were there any players at the bar, is the shooter still on the loose, have there been any of the victims passed away, and where was the bar located? Thanks for any help. I need to text my buddy and make sure he's OK.

Prayers sent.

No known accomplices at this point, and they dont think there are any. They haven't said what type of gun officially yet, but the ranters have made some good theories. Shooter is still at large. The bar is Copper Top in Temmerson Square, close to 4th and 23rd, Wilhagens, Mellow Mushroom, etc. No one has died yet, one in critical condition, three more in serious.

Hope this helps and hope your buddy is ok

To be fair, hopefully LE is focused on catching the guy and not satisfying the media's curiosity. This is better than the Montgomery Mayor giving updates of swat teams tracking and not being able to catch a dangerous cat in the attic of a home for 10 hours.

Appreciate the reply and help. You just never know what's going to happen with all these crazy people in the world nowadays. Such a shame.
