Imagine if the games this weekend involved ND@Ole Miss and Texas or Vandy @ Oregon. We're missing out on some epic matches. Why?

We must have diversity. There is a need for equity. the lesser brand name schools are grateful for this instance of inclusion.

We should all accept the College Football Playoff Selection Committee's choices with blind faith. A group of athletic directors, former coaches, and media members know whats best for us !

Gotta have one or you'll bet a lawsuit.

Ole Miss and Oregon need to bring the massive beat down. Embarrass Tulane and JMU to show the college football world that they truly do not belong here. Anything less and the dreamer teams will still have a reserved seat of inclusion.

They are stacking up ammunition for the impending lawsuit when they set up the super league and remove those schools from contention.

They need 5 or more years of evidence proving these schools cannot compete so the judge will rule in their favor.

Having one G5 would be not ideal but ok - they should have foreseen this niche case disaster when two made it and made sure it couldn't happen.

Thanks CFP and ACC

If a G5 went undefeated and played P5 teams during the season, they would be top 12. The fact that we have these lesbian teams in is a travesty

(Ex: 2017/2018 UCF, 2020/2021 Cinci)

I agree, but then what’s the point of them playing in the first place.

They're over-corrected so much with the G5. Those old Boise st teams would go undefeated and beat someone like Oregon along the way. They were legitimately a top 12 team in the country and would have been in a 12 team playoff on their own without any help and they probably would have even won a game or two.

There isnt going to be a late 2000s boise state every year. Just take the top 12 teams regardless of conference affiliation and be done with it. Any deserving G5 team would still be in.

"Everybody gets a trophy" culture has polluted true competition. Life was simpler when people could acknowledge that in life you win our you lose.

Scary how folks parent their kids these days...... Follow your dream, even if you suck at it.

NOPE.... enough time has passed that we should be better than that AT LEAST when it comes to determining a champion.
The eye test should matter more than it does.
Congrats to Tulane on a great season... but Ole Miss has already beaten the brakes off of you once.....

JMU.... tremendous season... deserving of a great bowl... but you ain't a playoff team dawg....

Just like OSU, PSU, and ND did last year in the first round right? I wonder who they played, were there any power conference teams in that listing?

They won their conferences. They belong.

A 4th and 5th place team shouldn’t be in a playoff.

If Tulane or JMU win a playoff game, it'll be that much harder to get rid of "inclusion teams".

You have to consider the discrepancies between these conferences. The top 10 teams in the sec would have all gone undefeated with james madison's schedule. Florida went 2-6 in the sec but they probably would have easily went through the sunbelt undefeated.

In that case honest question does Texas, Vandy, or OU beat Tulane or jmu? And if so what’s the spread?

Who cares if you win your conference if every co Terence or OOC SOS isn’t remotely close?

Yeah the main issue is the current landscape of college football, the G5 is so much worse overall than it was at it's peak prior to the player movement era.

This version of G5 is so watered-down it doesn't even compare to those old school Boise, TCU, UCF, etc. teams that played meaningful bowl games in the prior era.
