We should just skip the midweek games
Turble take.

Midweek games are valuable for players that aren't good enough to get the weekend starts. Thing is, some of those midweek guys prove themselves and wind up being weekend starters.

Without the midweek games, they have a hard time proving themselves with practice alone. Makes the team better when you can see more players perform in game time situations, and finding out your true performers.

Austin Peay starts the game HR, HR, Single, Error, FC, Single, Single

4-0 Top 1st, one out

Ole Miss answers in B1: Single, Single, Single, HBP... bases loaded, no outs, 4-1 Austin Peay

ETA: Inning ends 4-4 on an out at the plate on a guy trying to score from second on a single. Each team gets 4 runs and 5 hits in their first frame. 30 minutes to play the first inning

B3 It's 9-5 Ole Miss. Austin Peay has used 4 pictchers in 2 2/3 innings

My only reaction to that is to be relieved that we got Schloss before Texas started looking.

State won 9-5 over Samford. Extra innings.

Was a crazy game with a lot of unusual plays

Several times both teams had RISP with no outs only to come up empty handed

State eeks out a 9-5 win over a good Stamford team in 10 innings.

Now a tough road trip to Florida this weekend. We will see how that goes.

Midweek games are where you develop your depth. Already our Tuesday starter worked into the weekend rotation as middle relief.

Florida testing the theory that midweek games don't matter to the max.

I keep thinking this team sux, then they rally on the weekends.

Everyone knew that we were going to have to smash our way to some wins early but hard to keep doing that if the pitching doesn't round into form at some point. It puts too much pressure on the hitters and they will start pressing.

9 of our 16 pitchers are true freshmen. Of the 7 pitchers that are not true freshman only 4 of them pitched regularly on the weekends last season. True freshmen gave up 12 of the 14 runs last night. It is what it is this season.
