As I said elsewhere, this is a brilliant idea. Take a team that's built for speed and an innovative offense and pair them with an over the hill coach whose idea of innovation is the toss sweep left.

IF Tubby signs w/TT, it will be the first time in my life that a coach left aurbrin and got a D1 gig.

AT least AU is less than an hour to Montgomery and less than two hours to Hotlanta. Lubbock has NOTHING even near it.

Lubbock is freakin 7 hours away from Dallas/Ft. Worth.
I couldn't understand the guy's post. Auburn is not that bad (Mont. Columbus and Atlanta are within an easy distance).

I think Tubs would be better in a place that's easier to recruit. I think he's a good coach but he won't get the talent as easily as Texas and aTm. It would definately be a huge change in strategy. Going from all offense and no defense to the exact opposite.

Point being schools want to hire the next young hotshot, not recycled old coaches.

Well, lets review that comment dumbfrick...

Almost 60 years and 5 coaches:

1. Shug Jordan - Retired. Coached AU for a long time and was a legend. Loved AU and didn't want to leave.

2. Barfield - Sucked.

3. Dye - Legend. Loved AU. Didn't ever want to coach elsewhere. Still in AU.

4. Bowden - Didn't want to coach again until recently.

5. Tubs - Still lives in AU. Loves AU. Relocated him mom to AU. Never wanted to leave.

So, exactly WTF is the point you are trying to make? That coaching at AU = longevity and security and coaches love it and never really want to leave or coach elsewhere. I agree.

Want to do Bama next or should we stop here?

Tuberville would probably do well at Tech. Hope he gets the job...

LSU/Auburn has lost some of its luster without Tuberville on the sideline.
