He will announce he is not leaving, but getting his degree and quitting football based on what doctors have told him.

No that’s not true. He is one of the 4-5 players he has only genuinely loved in his career...member? I remember.

Don't be surprised here. There is no way in hell he comes back next year.

Why is he having a press conference at all? Seems self centered to me. Just announce whatever you're going to announce on your social media account and be done with it.

He needs to take the money and run...well, limp right now. Any idiot to that's willing to pay him 1st Rd money and he needs to burn them. He may not ever recover fully from this and if he does recover fully, he definitely won't be the same. I promise you that. Serious injiry, nothing to frick around with. One of the worst sports injuries you can have and try to come back from and then play at the level he will have to play at either in the sec or nfl. He's got a long road ahead of him. Book it. Just keeping it realistic, not hating at all. I like the guy personally he's a great young man and I wish him the best, unless he plays LSU or the saints.

If I’m Tua, I declare for the NFL draft. Will be gone in the first round and make millions. That is what I would do and would advise

He's letting the NFL teams know he has options, for them to call on the down low and Tua's agent will work it out.
He's gotta play the game now.

Some team will give him the gold, even if they have to wait till he's 100%.

With his durability?

Nah.

If he declares, they better reserve him the Brady Quinn Suite to wait out the inevitable tumble through the first round(s).

Tua being a left-hander is an issue no one really talks about. There are no lefties in the NFL.

If he is all-world and at his peak, NFL teams may overlook that and make an exception, but as an added negative to his injuries, it seems untenable.

I agree - I’d rather have Mac next year than a glass Tua

By him holding this press conference, means to me he’s coming back.

He's going to announce that he wasn't hurt when LSU beat them.

But seriously, he should go because of his injuries if he can get drafted highly now. He's a different kind of guy though, so nothing would surprise me with him.

Hopefully he’s realized Saban doesn’t care about him, his health, or future career. Nick would break that poor kid’s other hip if it meant a shot at the playoffs.

Tua is Saban's Pat Trammell. I think he genuinely loves the kid and has been affected by him deeply.

As far as the announcement, I see it 3 ways.
1. Announcing his departure-- unlikely as he isn't an individual and these announcements come after the season. Exception being if maybe their QB tgt is wavering with his "possible" return
2. Announcing his return -- may hurt QB recruiting but bolster other areas and overall team morale going into bowl season
3. Announcing he will never play football again -- I am most afraid this is it. Seems early in the recovery period for this decision point, but would justify an early and seperate announcement.
