They had wrinkles (plural) - UGA coaches were not prepared for TrueFrosh QB/RB/LT/C/2 WRs last night. Those young guys stepped up and did their job.

Oh, I think they were prepared -- Smart didn't last so long under Saban and achieve such early success as an HC by being stupid or overlooking things in the defense -- but there's a reason so many people look for offensive balance. It's really hard to be equally effective against both the run and the pass. Even Saban is better-known for his incredible run-D than his pretty darned good pass-D. UGA just happened to be better equipped to stop an elite ground game than an elite air game.

Yes we do.

I'm leaning towards one being much, much more effective.

Yeah Jalen lost his job and will not play meaningful snaps unless Bama calls a roll right and throw it out of bounds. I’m not to sure how many of those plays Bama calls though.

Consensus opinion, not mine.

Not a consensus opinion. You can’t be serious? The dude started over the next “great” SEC QB and was offensive player of the year last year.

Come on now bmy, as an LSU fan you know what a terrible QB looks like. Jalen has his weaknesses but not many "terrible" QBs make it two seasons with only 2 losses.

No idea why he would put Jalen back in at QB. That ship has left the harbor.

Tua and Jalen were fully prepared for the substitution I’m going to go on record and say that Bama will field the best team in their history next year. We will have the best defense in the country and two completely different offenses that we can utilize to keep the other team off-balance. Imagine Tua facing a secondary next year that shuts him down and then we throw in Jalen. Or Jalen as 3rd down/red zone option with his feet. Bama is already a nightmare to prepare for, what will a dc do now? Jalen is a “ride or die” Bama player as well; the only person that might convince him to leave is Kiffin (bromance). I’m convinced that we are going to change the game next year and have a methodical 2 qb system (not switch up when they suck). What’s even scarier is that I really believe that Saban sold that to Tua when recruiting. I said last night after Jalen over threw the end zone pass in the first that Tua will play. It’s been his plan all along. GOAT. Roll Tide World Wide.

I thought the same thing in 2010, hopefully doesn’t end the same way.

You may as well throw in his record as the starter too...

Here's the thing. Tua can run too. Why do we need Jalen?

STFU! The only reason you won this year is because of crooked referees and a choke job by Georgia

He's a bad fit for Bama's offense. Certainly for Kiffin's offense and apparently for Daboll's offense.

He'd set records under Gus.

So, are you a Auburn fan that was hoping for a Georgia win ? Trying to grasp the dynamics here. Thanks.

Strength. Dude can grind up the middle. I’m not saying a 50-50 split, but we would be stupid to not utilize his talents.

Throwing in Jalen against an elite secondary that is shutting down Tua would be a horrible idea.

So if Jalen is doing great your theory is that Saban is still just going to randomly switch to Tua?

Hurts should keep his hand in at QB, but needs to change positions. He has no future in the NFL as a QB but can definitely help himself and the team by moving to WR or RB.

Hurts on the jet sweep or quick screens would be a nightmare for the opposition.
