Courts hate ambiguity in laws, not rules. Private institutions have no duty to enforce them "equally."

I agree that the SEC should have rules very clearly defined and apply them equally, though. Relief is usually by breaking the contract or collective bargaining.
In a perfect SEC rule, you go to training camp, sign to a roster, whatever connects you to a paid relationship with the NFL or an NFL team and you no longer have eligibility.
Very cut and dry then.
