So states with a lot of blue collar workers buy stuff at Wal Mart. Shocking. I bet West Virginia is number 2.

No surprise Arkansas is in there. You can't throw a rock here in NWA without hitting a frickin Walmart.

Georgia and Tennessee both are in the top 10 walmarts per state list... Not coincidentally, they are also the 2 schools that have significantly less competition for fans within their state. Tennessee #10 on per capita spending at Walmarts

Florida is #2 on the total walmarts by state list, so interesting that they're not on the list, but they of course split the state with FSU and Miami.

Bama surprises me a bit, only insomuch as Auburn is *not* on the list. #4 on per capita spending at Walmarts

Arkansas is the damn home of Walmart... #3 on per capita spending at Walmarts

And Kentucky? no clue...

The 10 states with the most Wal-Mart locations are as follows:

1. Texas has 563 locations, which employ 156,195 people. The state also has 19 distribution centers that feed Wal-Mart stores with merchandise. Texas is the leader among all states by this measure. The stores represent 11% of all Wal-Mart locations (not quite double the next closest state but not far off)

More likely that Walmarts in Texas are significantly more likely to stock the state's most popular and most successful programs...

7, but yeah they're on there. It has a lot to do with store volumes, instate competition for fans, etc... Anyone who says they never shop at Walmart either doesn't ever travel or doesn't have kids... I do very little shopping there normally, but when you're out of town, it's a convenient one stop destination, which means less in and out of the car with kids... as long as I don't need fresh produce/meat, it's usually a solid go to.

The reason Auburn is not on the list is because they do not include plain white T-shirts. They buy them and sharpies and make their own.

I mean we all knew it... what they do not tell us is how gigantic the gap probably is between #1 and #2.

Success is a big factor. If Texas were good, they'd easily be first in the college category. Tennessee would be higher as well, if fans weren't so weary of losing.

No problem with 4, in fact, happy with it. If I'm gonna spend $$ at a huge evil monster, I'd rather spend it with an Arkansas based huge evil monster.

It's not that surprising. My office in Birmingham is split pretty much half Bama and half Auburn. Every single Auburn fan graduated from Auburn. Only one out of over a dozen Bama fans graduated from Bama... and one of the Bama fans actually graduated from Auburn.

Auburn fans (at least in the major Alabama metro areas) almost always have a college degree from their university. It's the exact opposite of most Bama fans.
