I don't know enough about the minor sports, but this would seem to be the ranking in the major sports. Who would be in your top five?

1. Nick Saban - Georgia has taken over, but Saban is still the Dean of coaches in the SEC.

2. Kim Mulkey - four national titles and an amazing rebuild at LSU in just one season.

3. Tim Corbin - two national titles and a long history of contention.

4. Kirby Smart - consecutive national titles and has built a monster at UGA.

5. Dawn Staley - two national titles and built a top-five program at SC.

Lol at Kim Mulkey at 2.

It’s Saban and Kirby at 1 and 2.

You can debate about the rest after that.

LSU fans pretending Will Wade never existed.

All of a sudden it’s WBB this WBB that.

So are you saying if Dawn wins this year she is all the way to #2?

Covid sucks, but we could easily pull a Bama and claim that title. we were the undisputed #1 team.

I think Staley definitely moves up if SC wins this year.

I considered Cal, but he only has one title. Frankly, I’m not sure the UK folks would put him in the top five these days.

i guess you can maybe make that argument but hes won the SEC 6 of the 13 years hes been at UK and placed 2nd 5 other times. So only 2 of the years he hasnt won or been runner up of the SEC. Thats still impressive. with multiple final 4 and elite 8 appearances.

Minor sports get no love, especially on this board populated mostly by FOGs, but the record of Arkansas track & field coach John McDonnell will likely never be equaled. He won 40 national championships across indoor & outdoor track and cross country (19 indoor, 10 outdoor, 11 cross country) along with coaching 23 Olympians and 54 individual national champion athletes. The only coach of a major sport who could possibly rival his dominance is John Wooden who won 10 national championships, including seven in a row (of course he’s not SEC), and maybe Saban.

Hate to say it, but if we're talking "major sports" (3 for each men and women), you might have to add Patty Gasso once Texas and OU join.

Oklahoma softball is an absolute freight train right now

The OP put two women's basketball coaches in his top 5, so clearly he loves him some minor sports. Put McDonnell on your list. shite, we could probably put somebody's Quidditch coach on there.
