quote:not that I can remember, maybe in the 1980s, I think MSU won like 5 straight against us at one point. UM is our only stable rival, the others come and go depending on how good they are. When Saban leaves, people won't care as much about the Bama game
how long have MSU/LSU been a rivalry?

What? LSU has always hated bama. That isn't going to change when saban leaves. What the hell are u smoking? That's definitely a rivalry and will continue to be forever. Your showing how young and ignorant you are by your posts. Lol.

Jeez I'm sorry. I don't remember it being viewed as a rivalry in the 90s or 2000s before Saban went there. Older LSU guys always talk about the LSU-UM rivalry. Being a big game isn't the same as a rivalry

Like I said, I do know the long history between those 2 schools (MSU).....never occurred to me to tie that connection with the song.

MSU fans try to make OM a rival. It’s very sad lil bro syndrome.

Irony folks - here's a moron who doesn't understand it.

Ole Miss fans have to deal with harassment as MSU fans try to make OM a rival
The whole rivalry started because OM students were upset that MSU existed. Because OM students and alumni thought education should only be for the wealthy. OM started the rivalry. To suggest otherwise is revisionism.

LSU and OM are rivals because they entered the league at the same time, and had history prior to that.
MSU and Alabama are “rivals” not because of competitive history, but because that series goes back a long way and they are an hour drive apart.

Well you are stuck in the past aren't you. We've added Kentucky and A&M to the list.

I would only call 2 of those a rivalry.

Most of those arent really rivalries...

This graphic smacks of FoxSports agenda to portray the SEC as "weak" and "top-heavy"

Bedlam is a one sided rivalry but their games are often crazy. OU seems to always escape though.

Didn't Bear Bryant retire in 1982?

He did.
Quite frankly, no Alabama fan was talking about LSU when I was growing up in the 90s. It was Auburn and Tennessee. Those were the two rivals. The first time I ever remember getting hate from LSU fans was after we hired Saban in 2007.
