It's funny because Georgia fans really believe it. They believe if they "lowered" their standards they would win championships like Bama,Auburn and Clemson.

Which standards do you want to talk about?Oversiging?
Drug testing policy?Taking players who've kicked out of other schools?Name one?
yea these policies didn't hurt uga football
We had 66 players vs Bama's 84 or 85 in the '12 SECCG mainly because of our anti oversigning policies amongst others. If you don't think it was a huge advantage for Bama than you don't know much fb and how depth effects
It was stupid and shortsighted and thank God we pretty put an end to it,

What recruit did they lose out to another school because of academics ? Or better yet, what recruit would have been a difference maker ? UGA has always had talent, but the waste a lot of it because of coaching.

In my 55 years of life I've never seen tamu be a top program for a sustained period. Not at the height of the Jackie S/ RC Slocum days.
Much like the Hogs, they've had a bit of success from time to time but have never really gotten it together. I don't mean this in a disrespectful fashion. But they've not really been able to get it together.
But time and time again we all hear about Aggie money and potential; sleeping giant, etc.
So I can't see any valid arguement for tamu being a better job than Bama, AU, Florida, Georgia or LSU. Maybe Better than Tennessee now.

There's a clear top 7
1) Alabama
2) Georgia
3) Florida
4) LSU
5) Tennessee
6) A&M/Auburn that's tough. If I had to pick I'd say Auburn over A&M.
I could see Georgia and Florida flipped. I think Georgia is just in a better spot due to less in state competition and a more passionate fan base ( my opinion).

Drop A&M.
I think someday, but still not there.
And to leave Fl and AU out.
tsk tsk

If A&M is such a great job, why has no coach in recent memory won big there? I'm genuinely curious. Big money and access to Texas talent will only get you so far.

The culture of Texas A&m scares off all the good talent and has ingrained these stigmas that are very unappealing.

Not true. We have a problem developing talent, not acquiring it.
We've had quite a few 5*'s be complete busts or underwhelming. Daylong Mack is doing better this year but was very underwhleming last season, Speedy Noil was a complete bust after his freshman season, Kyle Allen transferred to Houston and got benched, Kyler Murray also transferred, and Ricky-Seals Jones was a great blocker but underwhelming receiver.
That's five 5* recruits in the last 5 years who were either mismanaged or not developed properly.
Myles Garrett and Christain Kirk are the only 5* recruits we've had in the Kevin Sumlin era that have consistently performed and they were both stars from their freshman year.

LSU is irrelevant now. They lost to a sunbelt team

Top 5 Jobs GOING FORWARD based on instate talent and competition instate for those recruits:
1. Florida - lots of competition from Florida State and Miami but still so many players
2. Georgia - no real legitimate instate threat
3. Tennessee - new recruiting hotbed with no real instate threat
4. LSU - no instate competition but the instate talent isn't as deep as it used to be
5. Texas A&M - got to deal with Texas for the top recruits
And for the Alabama fans, before you lose your mind, just remember what you were before Nick Saban. Nick Saban made Alabama into what it is now. In terms of instate talent Alabama is not as good as Florida, Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, and Louisiana. Unless the guy who takes over for Nick Saban is Dabo Swinney, I doubt Alabama has similar success going forward under another coach.

Wish I could downvote you more than once.

I think #1 is Florida, Bama takes a special coach to manage both in terms of coaching acumen and in terms of control of the infrastructure.
JMO but:
1) Florida
2) Bama
3) LSU/UGA
5) Tennessee
A&M should be #5, but their culture does not allow them to reach their potential - which, if altered, could make them a #1 job.

I remember Bama being the winningest football program in the SEC BEFORE Nick Saban.
