Not sure I understand this thread. But football is Bama, Kentucky is basketball, and LSU is baseball.

1 season where the vols baseball team makes the supers and a football season where they beat Alabama since George W Bush was president and they’re the king of the “”big 3” LOL. UT athletics have been a joke for the last 20 years.

UT has quietly become one of the best Athletic Departments in the conference whether you want to believe it or not.

The OP is saying that because Tennessee won:

Baseball: 2022 SEC Regular Season Champs
Baseball: 2022 SEC Tournament Champs
Basketball: 2022 SEC Tournament Champs
Football: Currently 7-0 & ranked #3

Women's basketball is ranked in The preseason Top 5 as well.

I believe this statement still holds true today.

LSU is the ONLY SEC school to have DOUBLE digit conference titles in football, basketball and baseball. You can even throw in track and field as a kicker if you want. It's all about the hardware? Right?

Historically the answer has to be Florida. National championships in all 3 sports, all of which occurred within the last 30 years.

And if we are talking actual big 3, than it has to be:

Football - Bama
Basketball - Kentucky
Women's Basketball - Tennessee

Neither of those links do anything to address WBB vs college baseball in the SEC in terms of popularity/revenue.

Baseball: did nothing(congrats on the super we do that almost yearly) and has never done anything
Football: first good team since 2007
Women’s basketball: nothing
MBB: only program to perform consistently at UT in the last 20 years.

Before this year I can’t remember the last time I even heard someone mention the Vols.

And I live in Nashville.

Mens basketball at best is maybe half as important as football.

Yes and No

The original media deals were with the Big East for M & W CBB. Sooners and Georgia going to the Supreme Court allowed the CFA to form with all the schools not in the b1G and PAC (as they had the NCAA monopoly for 30 years). The first valuable schools were Kentucky and Kanas because of the old 50 kW stations like WHAS in Louisville and.KDKA in Pittsburgh. Basketball revenue on the old UK radio network was pretty stout and how Host Communications got started (now IMG College).

It is not that M&W CBB is not valuable, it is that all that revenue flows into the NCAA, not say the SEC. If M&W CBB follows CFB at some point in the future, you will see just how valuable CBB is.
