OK music has generally been a little underrated and overshadowed by its neighbor to the south. A lot of it has a little bit more heartland feel as opposed to the Texas or Tex/Mex sound.

Oklahoma has produced a ton of music talent. How?

I know who Hadley Hockensmith is. That band he played in called Koinonia featured one of the greatest bass players of all time, Abraham Laboriel. His son, Abe, Jr., played drums for Paul McCartney for many years and is still an A list session player in LA. If you know, you know.

I had a cousin in Broken Bow who was in a band with Jeff Keith about 10-15 years before Tesla. So I guess Jeff Keith was from there. Doubt anyone knows who he is anymore tho

The music scene in OK has always been pretty good. Although it did take a hit, at least in OKC, when all the woke stuff became popular. Big turnoff for a lot of musicians who went to DFW area.

John Fullbright
Parker Millsap
Mike McClure
Could be wrong but I think he claims Dallas as his hometown. Per Wikipedia he moved there when he was 8
