As we wrap up this decade, I wanted to countdown the top 10 games of this decade involving an SEC team.

LSU fans, I know tensions have been high between Georgia and LSU recently. I promise this is not a troll, I truly believe this to be the #10 SEC game of the decade.

Texas A&M defeats LSU 74-72 (2018)

This game had it all. Seven Overtime’s, a premature Gatorade bath. Controversial calls.

The game was believed to be over after Kellen Mond fumbled a snap with less than a minute left and threw an INT. Replay later showed Mond’s knee was down, before he threw the ball.

With seconds left on the clock, Kellen Mond threw a 19 yard TD pass to Quartney Davis to send it to overtime.

Multiple OTs followed

Texas A&M eventually won in 7OTs when Mond connected with Kendrick Rogers for a 2 Pt conversion.

Player(s) of the Game

Joe Burrow- Burrow had 6 Total TDs in the loss

Kellen Mond- With SEVEN TD’s, Mond took the game into his hands.

Scores
Quality of Game: 9.5
What’s at Stake: 6
Effect on SECRant.com: 7

Overall Score: 7.5

#9 coming soon.

Thanks. I put a lot of effort into these.

LSU fans that are downvoting, stop crying.

A couple games on this list really hurt me as well.

Not everyone is out to get you.

Definitely a classic. A&M kind of backed into it, but all the controversial calls were correct except the last pass interference that gave them a second chance to get the two point conversion. That was a phantom call. The game should have gone to an eighth OT. And the knee down call, while correct, had it been called correctly A&M would have lost the game due to time running out.

Never seen two teams as exhausted as the defenses were in that game. In the end it seemed almost slow motion.

Hated the outcome, but can’t deny it being a classic. Had it been for anything significant, it would need to be higher on the list.

Yeah. The Sternberger fumble could have gone either way too.

There is no way that that isn’t in the top 5

Excellent idea for a thread series. Looking forward to the rest, even though I know there will be a heavy dose of bama losses (and hopefully a couple wins as well).

Good luck with that. They are a sensitive bunch, expressed almost entirely through copious amounts of downvoting. (They're too ashamed to come out and say their panties are in a wad)

And another in 2012, and another in the 2017 season.

But who knows, maybe he included some or all of those.

I was sober at the end of regulation and completely bombed by the end of the game. The players (and fans) were spent up.

I was drunk in the 3rd and completely sober by 5th OT. Fun game, wish it had a better outcome.

If I didn't have a rooting interest in the game, I would say the 2012 SECCG was the best game of the decade. It was absolutely heartbreaking for Georgia but that was as good of an SEC game as I have ever watched.

I'm just sorry one of the teams had to lose. I was lucky enough to be there -- will never ever forget it.

UGA has definitely had its share of heartbreakers. I am not saying that to troll -- it's just kind of unreal how many times they've been within seconds of an NC.

This is definitely top 10 in games I’d never watch again.
