Thanksgiving day games are good for folks watching on TV, but it sucks having to go to the game. I'll still be there Thursday, but it's just a mad rush to have an early Thanksgiving "dinner" earlier in the day in order to get to the stadium on time.

But what if you’re both a spoiled trust fund frat boy and an ambulance chasing attorney?

Having the game on Thanksgiving day is so terrible. Not sure why they do that to us

I like it. It’s a good distraction from having to socialize with extended family I have little in common with

Actually that has calmed down considerably with Leach/Kiffin. Freeze/Mullen/Moorhead/Luke all flamed the toxicity of the rivalry.

Makes Thanksgiving suck when you sub smoked turkey with store bought sides.

Moorhead really didn't either. Luke had no control over the players. Both pisses in the end zone were under his watch IIRC

My thought, too. He was just a putz from the north.

Luke didn't fan anything. He may have crop-dusted the locker room once or twice, but that's about it.

I love this rivalry. I love seeing Ole Miss and State fans talk crap to each other.

2011 was pretty bad. A .500 State team whipping the worst Ole Miss team in sometime in pouring rain

Got kicked out of that one for being such a drunk, should have thanked them

Only game I have been to in Starkville was Kang Jackie's last game. I swear to God my seat was at the highest point in Mississippi and it was miserably cold and raining; probably just above freezing.

Ended up changing in the lobby of some girls dorm into dirty - but dry - clothes then driving up to Tupelo after that.

Wish they would put it back on Saturdays after TGiving, was a lot better for the hosting towns economy..

Actually it wasn't. The reason it was lobbied to be put back on Thursday (so I recently heard) was because some business owners in Starkville funded a study that indicated that it benefited Starkville's economy more to have the game on Thanksgiving.

That may be all bullshite, but there you have it.

I'm spitballing, but my guess why the game was moved back to Thursday was ESPN demanding something be played that night and the conference and schools capitulating.

Starkville and "economy" do not belong in the same sentence. That place is really and truly decrepit.

That probably played into the equation, as well. And tLandmass was the natural fit, and easiest to bully.

If State wants to keep having it on Thursday when it’s in Starkville they can have at it. We kinda did that back and forth for a few years anyway (Thursday in Starkville and Saturday in Oxford).

But ESPN will pick up Texas/A&M here very soon and this won’t even be a discussion anymore, and for that I am thankful (pun intended).

Ole Miss has never won the west or #1 in the country. Nobody likes Ole Miss. The Mannings don’t like you. Chad Kelly doesn’t like you. Matt Corral doesn’t like you. Lane Kiffin doesn’t even like you.
