2017 Bama was anointed Playoff worthy, their best regular season win was MSU and get their arse whipped by Auburn. But because of July, they got in and won a NC.

Even though the playoff committee has shown repeatedly they don't give a frick about the polls? How does Notre Dame in 2012 play into this scenario since they were unranked in the preseason but went into the BCSCG as #1?
Hell, earlier your argument was the opposite, you were upset because Auburn beating Washington had playoff implications.

Ehh, yes you can make the case for Clemson and Bama but those others you listed are not in that realm.
I recall UGA getting clobbered by LSU last year.
I recall OSU getting manhandled by a mediocre Purdue team.
They are not on Clemson and Bama's level quite yet.

Not true, since playoff you have had UDub and Oregon from the PAC-12. OSU and MSU from the BIG. FSU and Taters from the ACC. OU from the Big 12. Bama and UGA from the SEC. Every conference has had more than one Team in, the Big 12. 3 of the 5 major conferences have won it.
Sooner or later, the SEC is going to have a team to get thru Bama and win it. FSU will get the Taters again. Miami will get better also. Texas may challenge OU, and who knows about USCw.
You have maybe 8-9 teams with a theoretical chance this year.

Playoff is a joke. The fact that the committee is made up of has-beens and tokens is one issue, throw in that they meet for 4 weeks at some resort is icing on the cake. The integrity of game is at stake again and until they take it out of the hands of the committee, it will continue to spiral down. Four teams from 5 P5 Champions is the only thing that will save it.

The present playoff system has some fault in that. If a kid wants to play for a national title there are realistically only a dozen teams that you can go to for that experience.

Me too - though if I remember correctly the BCS formula and the playoff committee have matched every single year.

The BSC formula was killed because of the computer element. Most people couldn't understand the formula. Again, it has to be Championships that maintain the interest in the game the entire season. Now it comes down to 4-6 teams in Oct.
