Thoughts on the 3-5 conference schedule (elimination of divisions)

The idea of the 3-5 is that divisions are abolished, each SEC team gets 3 permanent rivals, plays 5 rotating conference opponents, and the two best SEC teams meet in Atlanta for the Championship Game. With this schedule, each team's 3 biggest rivalries would be preserved, but each team would still get to play each other both home and away at least once every 4 years.
Permanent Opponents would be:
LSU: Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Alabama
A&M: Arkansas, Mizzou, LSU
Arkansas: Mizzou, A&M, Miss State
Ole Miss: LSU, Miss State, Vanderbilt
Miss State: Ole Miss, Arkansas, Mizzou
Mizzou: A&M, Arkansas, Miss State
Alabama: LSU, Auburn, Tennessee
Auburn: Georgia, Florida, Alabama
Georgia: Florida, Auburn, S. Car
Florida: Georgia, Auburn, S.Car
Tennessee: Alabama, Vanderbilt, Kentucky
Vandy: Ole Miss, Tennessee, Kentucky
Kentucky: Vanderbilt, Tennessee, S.Car
South Carolina: Florida, Georgia, Kentucky
Thoughts?
*biggest issue here is that Tennessee and Georgia only play Florida every other year.

I don't want to play Mizzou every year

Here's the remedy to that:
Miss State: Ole Miss, Arkansas, Auburn
Mizzou: A&M, Arkansas, Kentucky
Auburn: Georgia, Miss State, Alabama
Georgia: Florida, Auburn, S. Car
Florida: Georgia, Tennessee, S.Car
Tennessee: Alabama, Vanderbilt, Florida
Kentucky: Vanderbilt, Mizzou, S.Car
Tennessee loses its annual rivalry with Kentucky, but regains its rivalry with Florida. Auburn keeps its annual game with Miss State instead of regaining its old rivalry with Florida. Mizzou keeps playing Kentucky.

I wasn't aware that Mississippi State was one of our 3 biggest rivals.
ETA: I should clarify that I'm fine with it. I just wouldn't call them a rival by any stretch.

I say we extend the season and play everyone.

What problem are we trying to solve?

Would have to change NCAA rules

Don't want to give up the yearly UT game.

No biggest issue here is it's not a round robin

Not getting to play teams in other divisions often enough. LSU fans shouldn't have to wait 12 years between trips to Athens. This way, each team gets to cycle through playing the entirety of the conference more often (no less than every other year) without having to play an additional game or give up too many cherished rivalry games.

It is a round Robin
For Example, in odd years, Auburn's rotating opponents might be:
Tennessee
Arkansas
Vanderbilt
Ole Miss
A&M
and in even years
Kentucky
Mizzou
LSU
Florida
South Carolina

Something doesn't quite add up here..
LSU: Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Alabama
Arkansas: Mizzou, A&M, Miss State
LSU: Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Alabama
Arkansas: Mizzou, A&M, Miss State

Strongly support because the divisions are rarely balanced.
In the 1990s, the East was stronger, and in the 2010s the West has been stronger.
Don't let a disgruntlement over one message board poster's selections for the 3 specific opponents by team derail support for a good idea. If actually implemented, they would make the best choices possible for each team's 3 permanent opponents and also figure out the best way to balance the rotating opponents.

The same thoughts as the last 47 times it's been posted here. There's a whole page dedicated to it:

I'm totally on board with it as a schedule as a fan. Unfortunately, back when this was first proposed, divisions and team numbers were requirements for a conference championship. It would seem though, that per the 2015 deregulation update that the Big XII has recently taken advantage of to add a conference championship (even though they play a full round robin), the SEC could make this change and still retain the conference championship. I'm not sure that the coaches would be as in favor of this, but if it was between this or a 9 game conference schedule, you'd have to think this would be preferable so long as there is a reasonable attempt to balance out the even/odd year matchups. Over time it will definitely cause some pretty dramatic SOS shifts, but likely still no different than the East in the 90s or the West for most of the last 8 years or so.

I say we kick everybody out of the conference but yours and mine. And play every weekend.
Should be fun.
Should be fun.

Is it me, or is this issue ALWAYS brought up by LSU fans?

No its not.
The round robin clause of the NCAA is you must play everyone in your division or league in order to have a championship game. Even if it wasnt a rule in the NCAA if you didnt have a yearly round robin format you would have issues with tie breakers, which would lead to Big 12 type drama

The change still mandates round robin formats either way around
