re: NCAA Tournament Wins Since 2007

Wins from the "First Four" shouldn't really count, since every other team that made the tournament outright didn't have to play in that game. Only mediocre teams even get the opportunity for that win.

That would subtract 1 from Tennessee (2014) and 1 from Ole Miss (2015).
How many high schools in the 11-state SEC footprint sponsor lacrosse? Is there enough D1-caliber talent in the South to support 14 more top tier teams?

Are you not aware of the fact that teams can get better as the season goes on?

Are you being facetious or you a fricking moron? Never mind, Bama fan. Already know the answer

Of course they can, but the rankings should represent what actually happened, not what hypothetically might if the teams played again.

LSU lost to Troy and got the shite beat out of them by Mississippi State, and voters should take those games into account in their ballots, regardless of whether they think the results would repeat themselves or not.

2 votes?

frick off AP poll

Fun fact: the one voter who put South Carolina at #24 (giving them their 2 points) was one of just 2 voters to leave Mississippi State off his ballot.

Considering how Mississippi State beat the shite out of Kentucky (who won in Columbia LOL), Louisiana Tech (who lost by just 1 in Columbia LOL), and Texas A&M (who beat South Carolina, but not worthy of a LOL), I think it's safe to say this dummy should have his voting privileges revoked and the results adjusted accordingly.
They've been doing the Dawg Pound Rock for 20 years now. Not anything special just for Bama.

If Georgia and Alabama are both the in playoff, Auburn (or whoever the #3 SEC team is) will probably be in another NY6 bowl, so move everyone up a slot.

Even if that speculation is true, so?

2013: LSU wins by 33
2014: MSU wins
Orgeron falls to 3-22 in SEC games this Saturday.
Strongly support because the divisions are rarely balanced.

In the 1990s, the East was stronger, and in the 2010s the West has been stronger.

Don't let a disgruntlement over one message board poster's selections for the 3 specific opponents by team derail support for a good idea. If actually implemented, they would make the best choices possible for each team's 3 permanent opponents and also figure out the best way to balance the rotating opponents.

MSU fans have gone full-on snowflake mode.

LOLno.

Kentucky is more likely to go 0-3 against Mississippi than 3-0.

I mean, I hope Kentucky can beat Southern Miss this year, but I'm not betting on it.

Sylvester Stoops had his 4th year fluke bowl last year, and will regress to the mean and be fired before December.

re: Arkansas wants out of the SEC

Didn't Arkansas win the NCAA basketball tournament like 20 years ago? Seems like that championship game would've made the cut...
If they get the death penalty, yes.
If not, no.

Mississippi State would have in 2014 if Dak had thrown just 2 interceptions instead of 3 against Alabama. :wah:

Mississippi State - Las Vegas Bowl
If MSU can't beat South Carolina at home, who are they going to beat? Has to be the easiest game on the Bulldogs' schedule this year, aside from the non-conference patsies.

re: Mizzou keeps the bootheel

When I was in Columbia a few weeks ago, an Uber driver told me (totally unprompted) "if you gave Missouri's bootheel to Arkansas, you'd raise the income and IQ of both states!!" and then laughed like it was hysterical.

I was just like "oh, OK..." since I didn't know if that was a "sick burn" or a "sad but true" kind of thing. Still gave her a 5-star rating though.

Re-think your post and what I said.

He says UF has no impressive wins. With or without Grier - UF beat Ole Piss. But if Ole Piss wins, all of a sudden they deserve the Sugar Bowl. Makes no sense.

Hence, he's an idiot.

I don't care who "deserves" the Sugar Bowl or any other bowl. That's an existential question far beyond my knowledge or interest.

The fact is that if Alabama wins the SEC and goes to the Playoff, whichever SEC team is the next highest in the Committee's final rankings is going to the Sugar Bowl.

If Florida loses the next 2, it's probably going to be the Egg Bowl winner, even if Florida or LSU or Texas A&M fans feel slighted by it. Blame the Committee.

Doesn't the playoff committee make the bowl selections?

It's based on their rankings. SEC Champion goes to Sugar, unless they're in playoff. In that case, 2nd highest SEC team in the rankings goes to Sugar.
