That wasn't a penalty.

NOBODY IS WATCHING THE frickING VIDEO.

THE WHOLE POINT OF THIS THREAD IS BEING MISSED.

THE POINT IS THAT IN THE PLAY AFTER THE PENALTY, SC WAS ABOUT TO SCORE A TD, AND THE REFS BLEW THE WHISTLE MID-PLAY TO REVIEW FOR TARGETING.

PLEASE WATCH THE WHOLE VIDEO BEFORE POSTING. THANKS.

That crew is one of the worse in NCAA. Freaking hate them. Always a goat rope with them.

The bigger question is why does the SEC, the premier conference in college football, have the worst officials?

It's literally every week that there are some incompetent or controversial calls from SEC crews.

Vandy players clearly gave up on the play after the whistle is blown. Hard to say how much space Harbor would have actually had if the whistle wasn’t blown. Easy first down, sure. TD? Not likely even with his elite speed.

There is always some frickery going on when that crew is on the field

That is the same crew that officiated LSU @ Clemson, where it looks like they took a TD away from LSU.

BTW, I tend to think that SC scores on that play. Yes, Vandy had let up, but as the receiver turned up the field, he had another receiver who would have been able to block the only Vandy player that would have a chance for the tackle. But, we will never know and it probably wouldn't have mattered.

If you compare the way this happened to the way that the ACC and the ACCN handled a targeting call in the Clemson @ Georgia Tech game, it really highlights how bad SEC refs are.

JMHO.

That may be the weakest targeting call I have ever seen. I can understand why it took so long to review it, because there was nothing there. I guess they saw how woozy LS was and decided they had better do something. Idk. Strange. But not targeting.

Ole Miss is the poster child for losing to Vandy.

You may want to sit this one out.

Looks like you were already losing at home to Vandy. What led up to that part?

Vandy received the opening kickoff and they were trading shots?

I watched it. The whistle should not have been blown, because it wasn't targeting. I agree with that.

I don't agree that it turned the game or that he definitely would have scored a TD.

They should have just went with the refs on the field and let play continue. Then SC wouldn't have an excuse for their loss.

SORRY I FORGOT TO REPLY IN ALL CAPS TO MAKE MYSELF THINK THAT IT SOMEHOW MADE MY MESSAGE MORE IMPORTANT OR CORRECT!!!!

The whistle blows as the ball is in the air...

It's a 100% targeting. It's forceable contact to the head or neck area on a defenseless player (what a QB throwing is considered). It also led to a concussion, so clearly the contact was indeed forceable.

You are exactly right. The whole point is SC got curb stomped at night, at home by Vandy. I would be upset too, but no amount of "ifs" change the historical facts of what happened.

Been a while since Ole Miss lost to Vanderbilt but one thing you would surely not see me doing is making a topic to justify a 4 score loss to Vandy if we had one.

I say this every year. SEC refs are the worse in College football.

I love it when LSU plays a team from another conference and we get to have their refs instead of SEC.

SEC refs are the laughing stock of Every conference

Vandy was up 14-7. Ccd the score wasn’t on thr screen your point is makes it sound like Vandy was down 14 and the entire game flipped.

Good grief.
