This year I expect the team to actually be improved and worry more about letdowns than trying to mask deficiencies.

Sounds right. The team is obviously as good as anyone. Went head to head with a very good OU team and won and lets face it, the championship game was so close, it could have easily went either way.

If I we're a UGA fan right now, there is no way I would be looking two years down the road. Its prime right now

A few things to consider before crowning UGA...

1. UT and Florida will be leaps and bounds better than last year, UGA basically got 2 free wins vs them when they were down.

2. UGA loses 30 plus seniors

3. UGA ran the ball 72% of the time with 2 Generational type running backs in Chubb and Sony. Can they replace that production?

4. UGA has to play in both Columbia's against 2 teams that gave them a hard time and will be seeking revenge.

5. Everyone knows regardless of how good LSU is Death Valley is a tough place to play, can the dawgs overcome?

Lastly for the all hype about Auburn having to play in Athens, the last game UGA had no offensive TDs and were a couple plays away from losing to a Sean White lead team at QB for Auburn... Is Athens really that tough of place to play?

Don't think so

Happens almost every year

They have 5* backs stacked all over the place

USC will not beat UGA this year and LOL at Missouri. Come on man

Your best point. They can lose this game and it won't matter. They will win the east. If they win the SEC Championship, it won't matter if they have one or even two loses. They go to the playoffs

UGA will in no way have the best Dline. Prob not even top 5 in the SEC...

David Marshall scored 71.6 from PFF
Malik Herring scored 71.3 from PFF
Tyler Clark scored 74.6 from PFF and improved as the year progressed into what I believe was our best DL vs OU/Bama.
Jay Hayes - Had over 81 PFF grade on running snaps and 75 on passing snaps. He transferred this season to UGA and will provide an immediate run stuffer on our line.
Jonathan Ledbetter - Had an 81 overall grade

That's not counting new stud Brenton Cox who will likely play from day 1.

Our DL will easily be more experienced and better than last year. We will easily be TOP 5 in the SEC.

People said the same thing when we had to replace Gurley and Marshall and next we had two incoming young dudes named Chubb and Michel who were 5 stars and they went out and lived up to their ranking.

Everyone has already seen what Swift can do.
Now we need to see what James Cook and Zamir White can do.

Bama still has the roster advantage. Might be a good post for next year or the year after

I love this! Not only is this year's championship in the bag, but you guys are already thinking dynasty!

Man, this single thread has the potential for multiple years of bumps.

Carry on (please)!

Wasn't Bama favored vs. Auburn last year?
Who underperformed in that one?

The frick are you talking about? He is saying Bama still leads in talent, and it may be a year or 2 for our best chance. He never said anything about a dynasty or winning it all this year.

UF has 19 returning starters and a coach who is familiar with the program. UT has Pruitt and that's worth a few more games than last year in itself. Chances are better that both teams will be much improved than not.

Teams don't lose 30 plus seniors every year...

5 star don't mean they will replace that same production, although I think Swift is one of the better returning RBs, Hollywood and White both had serious injuries coming out of HS too as 4 and 5 stars respectively.

Mizzou returns virtually the whole team that put up big numbers vs UGA's defense. They will be playing with a chip on their shoulder.

I still think UGA will be pretty good but there are some things that you can worry about.

UGH! These dawg fans are so desperate these days.

They had a weak schedule last year (playing in the EAST) and have another cake walk this year.
When they played the west last year they went 2-2 and 1-1 in the regular season.

They should win the East this year. Playing at LSU will not be easy for UGA. Playing AUB and LSU are likely tossup games at the moment.

The East should continue to get better in regards to UF. I do think when UGA leaves one of the Columbia's they will leave with a loss.

How well does UGA play with a target on their back?

That's the problem with UGA (fans). Most thought walking into Jordan Hare last year UGA was going to come out victorious. Well, they didnt. They were awful on both sides of the ball. Auburn had the game marked and played one of their best games of the season. The same could be said for UGA in the SEC Championship game. No team plays the same at all levels during the entire season.

UGA had the target on our back last season in the East.

I'd say we did well.

They got better coaches this year. I expect them to put up more of a fight than last year but they will still struggle talent wise this year.

2. UGA loses 30 plus seniors

True but not all 30 were starters.

3. UGA ran the ball 72% of the time with 2 Generational type running backs in Chubb and Sony. Can they replace that production?

Hard to say if there will be a 1-2 punch like the last couple of seasons with Chubb and Sony but Swift will produce. White and Cook are both freshman, so it is hard to say about their production. Holyfield could bridge that gap.

4. UGA has to play in both Columbia's against 2 teams that gave them a hard time and will be seeking revenge.

Playing at South Carolina in the second week will be tough. They are getting better each year and playing at South Carolina hasn't been easy over the last several years. I wouldn't say they are out there seeking revenge. I think they are more hungry than ever to prove everyone wrong.

5. Everyone knows regardless of how good LSU is Death Valley is a tough place to play, can the dawgs overcome?

It is one of the toughest places to play. Also, weird shite happens there also. Look at last year, lost to Troy (not poking fun) but a couple weeks later, they came from behind and beat a top 10 Auburn team.

Lastly for the all hype about Auburn having to play in Athens, the last game UGA had no offensive TDs and were a couple plays away from losing to a Sean White lead team at QB for Auburn... Is Athens really that tough of place to play?

It must have been considering Auburn lost to a 6-4 team at that time when Auburn was ranked 9th.

I worry more about the Missouri defensive line (on the road) than I do the Missouri offense.

If Missouri has to rely on 1 play and 1 receiver to outscore us, then I really do like our chances.

well our starting all SEC tailback(Kam Pettway) that got us to #9 was injured, that might be why we crapped the bed.

Lock did a great job spreading the ball around in the first half last year. He was shut down in the second half of that game. This year, if he can put together a complete game spreading the ball around then that could spell trouble. I'm not trying to discredit Mizzou's defense because I honestly don't know nothing about the defense but I am more worried about Lock popping off a big game.
