Memphis State, Cincinnati, and maybe Temple, would easily be at the top of the rung in the ACC.

Horrible competition leads to pulling starters out early.

That is exactly what everyone is "suggesting" or the comments wouldn't keep coming up.
UGA gets a complete pass after losing to a horrible...and I do mean Horrible South Carolina team just because they won a few good games but Clemson get eviscerated all year for winning a league game one the road...
A I can say is thank you! It's this type of bullshite that gives Dabo the fuel to keep the ROY bus topped off.

Clemson doesn't get eviscerated. The ACC (excluding Clemson) gets eviscerated. Everybody understands Clemson is an elite football team.
But the parallels to 2014 are here. Defending champs (FSU), undefeated in ACC play, two undefeated seasons in a row...
It's not Clemson's fault the teams in the ACC are a disappointment. Clemson has done everything it can do. But there hasn't been a good measuring stick yet to truly judge Clemson. We finally get that, and I think it's going to be an amazing game.

Like Dabo has recently said, we are at the time of the year when everyone is getting amnesia over the comments that have been made all year..
Clemson's schedule has had it thrown up all of the time as a dig at the program. I could understand if we were a new team to this level but we are the most established program in the playoffs this year and that should mean something. As great of a season as LSU has had, they have more to prove than Clemson because this team was still shitting their pants as kids the last time LSU was in the National Championship hunt and have no experience dealing with the distractions...

Again, I don't think anyone is saying Clemson isn't a great team (certainly not very many people).
People are saying that Clemson literally played zero good teams the entire season and it is hard to judge HOW great a team they truly are because of it. And, they are #3 because their resume isn't anywhere close to LSU or Ohio State.
I don't understand why Clemson people seem to be so riled up by this.

The #3 ranking is not the issue...the subliminal message of Clemson not belonging at all because we are in the ACC
is getting old...There is also the message that because we played in the ACC when it's a down year along to the 2 SEC juggernauts we played that we can't possibly be good..

Hey, maybe I am missing it, but I don't get that notion AT ALL. I get the notion that the ACC is awful and Clemson gets to coast to the playoffs.
That is very different than "Clemson isn't good".

Let me get deeper..maybe this will help get into our heads a little as to why we are so "sensitive"...
Remember when Reece Davis, Lou Holtz (and his drool) and Mark May hosted the ESPN College show?...There were years when the "ACC Wheel of Destiny" was used as a mockery of the league. This was also when FSU and Clemson were down...Then we had to deal with the Tommy Bowden era where the term "Clemsoning" became another mockery...It took Dabo building a program and blowing up a lot of smart arse reporters to finally shake that stigma...We don't mind being called out when we are bad but we really don't like it when we are elite..
It is a little part of the bigger issue

Just because Delamr feels disrespected after winning the G5 +1 ACC doesn't mean Clemson should be #1. If Clemson is so great, who cares where you're ranked? You're in so TCB.
Burrow said we'll play any team, anytime, anywhere. We'll play in Canada on a gravel lot.
Maybe Delamr and the Soggy Bottom Boys should have that attitude.

you have two of the last 4 titles, so you lost twice in those games.
you lost to Syracuse and Pitt in 2016,2017. you didn't prove to be the best team vs those average teams that day.

You are elite. You also haven't played a team with a pulse yet, which is what everyone is saying, and which is the exact same thing everyone was saying about us pre-LSU.
