Everyone realizes the semifinals are a formality and it will be Georgia/Bama in a rematch for the title, and you dipshits want to add EIGHT MORE TEAMS?!

It’s just a goddamn money grab, competitively it’s a giant waste of time.

This Bama team has been locked in dogfights with Auburn, Florida, and LSU. Let’s not act like we’re invincible

They are going to have to expand eventually as more power 5 teams will have one loss and even more G5 teams will go unbeaten.

A healthy Ole Miss would be an issue for every team in the playoffs.

I'm not sold on the necessity of expansion but if anything this year is a demonstration of why it might be necessary. There are at least six or seven teams that could conceivably win and have a legitimate argument for why they deserve a place in the playoff this year.

I agree that expansion would just delay the inevitable at this time.

But with the portal there should be more competitive teams soon and then that conversation can start.

When we have two to four teams out recruiting everyone else it generally shows on the field.....unless you're aggie.

No Clemson, no Oklahoma, no Ohio State. It's not business as usual. There just isn't that one overwhelming juggernaut like years past. In short, you are wrong.

There are not 7 teams that have a legitimate argument. That's horseshite. There are three teams that have a legitimate argument, and one team that is fortunate another contender copped a second loss last night.

A 12-team playoff would give more SEC teams a chance to get in. A lot more. An SEC team that finishes 10-2, like Ole Miss this year, should not be left out of the playoffs. They are absolutely worthy.

Also, it would give middling programs like A&M’s, UK’s and others more motivation to win. The Citrus Bowl is a nice reward for the Cat’s record this year but it would be much more exciting if we had beaten Miss State or UT and were up for one of the 12 playoff positions.

It’s gonna hurt the regular season
Your gonna have some big games with lackluster attendance
Look at the rankings, teams 9-12 are not winning a title especially with the byes in place for the top 4
That extra week off will be a huge advantage
The only thing I like about 12 is the possibly of home playoff games
Plus all it will be is a bunch of rematches most likely
That we’ve already seen
Has anyone asked the players what their preference is
Are they willing to risk injury playing additional games
Even nfl players have balked at the extra game added to nfl schedule

A&M fans should support expansion. It’s the only way y’all will ever make a playoff

So, the NY6 isn't good enough for SEC powerhouse Kentucky? If you win those games you're in the NY6 and fringe playoff talk anyway. You choked it away just like you would have with the playoff at 12

I think the opposite would be true, games like OM/aTm this year instead of being a good match up would’ve been a de facto playoff game and would have had a lot bigger draw.

Michigan / UGA will be a good game

And bama has struggled with teams inferior to Cincinnati.

Even if they don’t have a shot at all, expansion keeps everyone in cfb tuned in. It may not change the final result but opening the door for fringe programs to have a possibility of playing on that stage is huge. Play one less nonconference game against a terrible team and it solves itself. Would be good for cfb all around. Keeps players from opting out too
