AU NMSU postgame locker room speech

Bruce knows when to put the hammer down and when to relieve pressure. That's not "X's and O's" but that is coaching. After 5 games in 8 days, our kids were spent and almost let it slip away yesterday but Bruce never let them forget that they are in this together. After a day of nuch needed rest, I expect us to give Kansas hell on Saturday.

Pulling hard for AU to beat the Jayhawks. I think they get it done. This is not a classic KU team.

They are not resting tomorrow. They have to prep for one of the the blue bloods of cbb tomorrow.

And why I’m not a coach. I would have been throwing chairs, trashing the place, screaming my head off the way they almost derped that game away. Survive and advance.

Look, AU had an absolute meltdown the last 3 minutes of the game and STILL won. If you’re.going to advance in the tournament a team generally has to survive a near death experience.

I predict AU trounces KU. The Jayhawks can’t shoot. AU can.

This is why I think it's best to lose in the sect or move the sect up a couple of days.

Program like Auburn always has to go full effort to get SECT championship though. It's rare that those opportunities come to AU in bball. Regardless of second round win or loss, Pearl being able to recruit to AU winning a SECC in 2017 and SECT in 2018 is much bigger than winning a game or two in NCAA tourny.

So they can get lucky af to still be playing?

Pearl's a good coach and Auburn is a good team, but that was pure luck and a terrible decision by NMSt that won that game for AU. It's part of it. Every team needs luck to survive and advance

So it's not because of the recruiting perks? The BBQ might be okay, but I bet the grab bags really got the recruits drooling.

Too soon?

B/c Auburn won, everyone is calling them lucky. Sure there was luck but NMSU was just as lucky to even be in the game. Best analysis I heard on it was that the only reason either team won that game was because by rule the team with the most points when the clock goes to 00 wins. It was like two goats trying to hump a beach ball for the last 3 minutes.

LOL we were up like 13 until they started fouling and extending the game... I'd say they had a good bit more luck than we did. OOF
