College football is dead. Regardless of whether your preferred school is playing the NIL game well or not….it has simply changed to the point that we are basically G-league basketball or AA ball in baseball now…..none of which anyone really cares about.
The only winner…..the NFL.

The frick are you talking about? Harris got paid $190.00 dollars to FOR GAS and never participated in football related activities. Wright made it to the first preseason game and didn’t play before getting cut.

This is precisely why Congress will have to get involved and create/vote on a law that applies nationally. This entire LSU/SEC fiasco along with all the other state-issued TROs is a result of Congress being incompetent and ineffective.
On one hand, I understand Sankey and the SEC attempting to take matters into their own hands since Congress won't act and any SEC member institution is pretty much guaranteed to get anything they want passed in a friendly state court. This renders the SEC and NCAA useless and gives all the power to the individual state courts, and there's nothing the NCAA can do about it. Sankey wants to remind any institution in the conference that they can still kick you out for going against SEC policy even if you legally get everything you want passed in your state court. Otherwise this could become a runaway train of friendly state courts and judges giving their favorite universities all sorts of crazy rulings.
You want 200 roster spots? A new 100% tax on hotel rooms rented within a 100 mile radius on game days that goes towards NIL? No eligibility requirements at all? How about unlimited practice time? No longer require the players to actually attend the university? Want the transfer window banished, allowed to sign players from other teams at any time? Just go to your friendly state judge and have them make it legal in your state. Problem solved.
This is the slippery slope they're trying to avoid with these state courts essentially issuing whatever rules they want.
On the other hand, Sankey has chosen a strange and career-dooming way to fight this fight. His issue should be with Congress and the NCAA as a whole, until THEY choose to act there's practically nothing these individual state courts can't overturn or enact and make it legally binding in that state.
