Chambliss didn’t declare for the draft or go pro in any capacity, yet you’ve made the assertion that a “precedent is set.” Why don’t you elaborate on this?

True. When was this rule released by SEC?

Multiple things could make someone ineligible, no?

LSU saw an ineligible player reinstated by virtue of a state court. Why would they not assume the same would apply to them?

Why does SEC allow one to stand and not the other?

It seems to me that Lane Kiffin is the evil serpent in this once pristine bayou garden that we all love.

you really believe that the Chambliss issue and the two NFL players are the same issue then you are either completely ignorant or somewhat retarded. It also proves that you are an LOLSU poster. No other schools fans on this board are that ignorant.

Are you retarded or just play it on here? Here are the facts that he is trying to say and I’ve been saying since this started.

You are trying to defend the Chambliss issue by saying it isn’t the same as the “NFL players” issue? How is it not? The OP miss spoke and said the SEC ruled him ineligible but it was the NCAA that ruled him out and did so twice. Regardless of that, if the NCAA rules someone ineligible, the conference can’t ignore it and say OK.

Regardless of the reason why, Chambliss, like the NFL players are ruled ineligible. The penalty would be for playing/rostering an ineligible player.

Chambliss was declared ineligible, filed a suit, got a TRSO to play until the case is heard along with a sweet date of next spring. (How convenient). Also has where he nor Ole Miss can be punished if they uphold the ruling. Sec says nothing.

Multiple players, including the 2 “NFL” guys that wanted to go to LSU sue and get a TRSO. Also with sanctions saying them nor the university would be punished if not approved. SEC and all of you Nimrods want to go scorched earth if those guys play.

You can’t decide on which rule that made them ineligible you disagree with or agree and then use that to selectively enforce. At the end of the day they are no different. They are both deemed ineligible and received TRSOs to play while it played out in court. It’s like saying an armed purse snatcher in the street shouldn’t be charged bail wile the armed tail light thief should have no release. At the end of the day, they are both criminals that broke a law.

There's no meaningful difference other than the SECs response (or lack thereof.)

Chambliss is playing under a TRO.

Ole Miss homerism, anti-LSU sentiment, and recency bias are the only reasons people don't see the hypocricy.

Don’t care to compare - NCAA ruled against Chambliss twice, got MS Supreme Court to issue TRO, SEC ignored and let it happen.

Tell us, is that ok with you?

There's no meaningful difference.

Both examples are eligibility requirements. Both examples resulted in a TRO via a state court.

You are right about the eligibility issues being different. But, that's not meaningful.

One led to a makeshift rule that led to lawsuits and confusion. The other was just ruled ineligible by the NCAA?

Ole Miss is wrong no doubt and he should be suspended. LSU is wrong is this situation as well. The SEC should suspend both coaches and it would stop but they won’t do anything to either. The court system should not have gotten involved

Just?? It’s a SEC bylaw to participate. You have to be NCAA eligible.

LSU didn't roster or play an ineligible player.... Ole Miss did.

LSU challenged it because the SEC has allowed other ineligible players continue to play due to a TRO so they figured the SEC would continue to allow it. Once they realized the SEC wasn't going to back down and this was going to be more risk than reward they decided to step away from the option.

What people are not understanding is SEC has not be equal in how they handle ineligible players. We can even talk about Bediko and Bama.... he was a pro player, came back and got TRO then was rostered and played. Nothing from the SEC.... ok if that is their stance. But now all of a sudden they want to lose their minds. Hypocrisy at best.

If they have decided to turn over a new leaf then they better take this same stance moving forward with EVERY ineligible player that sues and gets a TRO to play.

NCAA rules made him ineligible hoss. SEC never made a statement on that.

NFL contracted players was a bridge too far. SEC didn't wait to watch the NCAA fail on that one.

Crazy since the SEC bylaws state that a player must abide by all NCAA guidellines.

Which is the rule they're trying to use against Kiffin.
