It wasn't the ground that gave him a concussion. Dude was likely out before he hit the ground the way he his head went back and forth.

They did. On the original live shot it somewhat looked like maybe they were side by side. But then on the replay you could see the hit. Dude was out before he hit the ground.

Any hit Helmet to Helmet is targeting he was trying to hurt the player.
If you have seen a player paralyzed as I have have witnessed you would know that as hit to head or neck should be penalized.

Blame the ABC production staff then. There is not some edict from the SEC that demands all broadcasts provide a detailed slow motion replay for all plays to validate calls made on the field. They were also coming off a commercial break.

You are free to watch the replay on youtube and slow the playback speed. The view from the far side of the field certainly looks like he makes contact with Meadow's helmet. Go to 1:13 and adjust playback speed to .25

The broadcast I was watching showed it one time coming back from break. They mentioned in passing that Burks was ejected and made no further comment.

I agree that my complaint was more with the ABC production.

Sure. Player A cannot completely blow up Player B when he isn’t looking causing him to have brain damage. Thanks

more important...sure maybe

The worst blown call was SC getting an illegal procedure on our kicker as a fake punt was about to work in a still close game.

True, it would have been a really close play too. It looked like you may have gotten it or possibly stopped a hair short.

It was targeting, but saying he intended to hurt him is bs speculation.

You do realize on the last TD Missouri had they had a lineman blocking downfield. The ball was on the 3 yard line and the lineman is is the paint a yard or two blocking a LB. It should have taken the points off the board and moved them back.

As long as we are bitching about missed calls sometime early in the game Missouri had a DL lined up in the neutral zone. Wasn’t flagged. Proctor was face masked on the goal line and still no call. That call could have been critical if Missouri was able to score at the end.

They called targeting because a defenseless player got hit forcibly in the head. It ain’t that hard. There are targeting calls people can bitch about. That ain’t one of them.

As many expected, targeting is just a crap rule. Git rid of it. These men know what they are doing when they take the field to play football.

If we have to keep targeting, we need unintentional and intentional. The latter would be clearly when the defender was trying to knock someone out.

I hate what the rule has done to the D. I want to see two D Backs knock each other out and the receiver when they hit him in the air from two sides.

Damn that was a beautiful clean hit Shame that the freshman WR had probably never experienced such a hit before and had the wind knocked out of him, causing the refs to call a penalty

So few LSU fans seem to understand the rules of college football. It is not surprising they are always complaining about the officials.

Damn that was a beautiful clean hit  It looked great live. It suvks because there is no angle to see definitely if it was helmet to helmet or not. You cant tell

I understand launching at a horizontal level with the crown of your helmet wasn't called on Georgia. Mizz Safety, you couldn't tell if it was helmet to helmet or not. What rule am I missing? Do you have to physically let the receiver catch it and take steps first before you hit them? Can't hit them in mid air? What is it?
