well the last 3 champs were first year starters, so maybe les should rethink his strategy there.

Well, he will be a first year starter this year

The whole "Mett didn't beat out JJ or Lee....
So how could he really be a legit SEC QB?"

Man I'm getting so tired of hearing this.

Me too!

This thread was needed.

Y'know, I hear LSU fans saying nothing but "Bama's WRs aren't proven."

That's kind of a reflexive response isn't it?

Really, none of your WRs are proven

4 years of JJ/JL will do that.

Most of you LSU fans ignore the fact that Bama just dominated you in your home away from home, and usually wins in TS. You act like being in TS matters to Bama. It'll be a close game, but I don't see how Bama loses. Mett has to be near perfect for that to happen.

What about the last 5 years where Les is 3-3 against Bama and beat you in your Stadium as recently as last year and (LSU) has won 5 out of the last 6 in Bryant-Denny? Should we ignore that fact too? You sure acted like being in Bryant-Denny was gonna matter to LSU before last years game.

if that's true, LSU is fricked

well in mett and murray's defense richt was pulling the same stupid bullshite as les is currently. Joe Cox was supposed to be like a DJ Shockley year. then Richt wanted to ride it out. then it got so bad he through Logan Gray in and then we realized how fricked we really were but it was too late to burn any redshirts so we continued sinkining

If I were to do a TL;DR for that, it would be..

"Good QB, dumb coach".

Saban started Marcus Randall over future number 1 draft pick Jamarcus Russell. Richt started Joe cox over aaron murray and Mett. The patriots started Drew Bledsoe over Tom Brady. It took an injury to Trent Green for Kurt Warner to see the field. AJ McCarron backed up McElroy despite being more talented. For whatever reason these things happen sometimes. The results of our "mistake" was a 13-1 SEC Championship season with wins over the pac 12 and rose bowl champs big east and orange bowl champs and the national champions.

....and 'Bama didn't lose to anyone in THEIR house in front of their mamas last year either.

There is a segment that is not going to get that, nor can they.

Not to mention a kid that has had disciplinary problems in the past too
He had no problem throwing JJ in after he was reinstated.

True. In hindsight possibly his worse decision in 2011.

Well, we don't beat Bama in Nov if Lee played that whole game, they weren't prepared for JJ. To me the worst decision of 2011 was not having a back up plan with Lee if the top rushing D in the country actually stopped the option. But, I'm pretty sure it didn't matter who lined up vs Bama that day. They were out for blood that day....let's face it, majority of those Bama players had just lost to LSU twice in a row and no way would they lose a third. Miles got a Lil complacent and Saban prevailed. Will be interesting to see if Miles and this team can respond the same way

Dumb argument. There was no reason for Mett to play in the first half of the season. The offense under Lee was efficent and functional, something LSU has not seen since the 2007 offense. But Miles was just determined to make Jefferson a superstar - and that's when the offense went to shite

I agree but, in hindsight, Zach should have kept getting snaps representative of the 2nd string QB. But the problem is the 'hindsight' thing. LSU demolished everyone they played save MSU and UA. I doubt he foresaw JJ doing absolutely nothing in the bowl game.

Who cares who's "turn" it is? You put the best QB on the field...which Les has never been very good at, apparently.
